She did exactly what she was trained to do. Once an officer is a victim of violence and given the assault nature of the call she the right to escalate with deadly force. Her size and gender also was a factor in making this shooting lawful. Now she has to live with this. I wish her all the luck in the future that she recovers.

Stupidity is deadly here. We’re all better off. Sad the officers have to deal with this in their workday. They are trained and expect some of this BS.

Absolutely justified. I said a little prayer for her.
Sub-human vermin called that shot, had every opportunity to cooperate and instead
decided to attack. Screw him.

Man that is hard to watch. World is better without that piece of shift. I too Pray for the Officer. Hats off to fellow Officers there on scene.

Bad scene, I wonder what a toxicology report would find, seems the male suspect was verbally unresponsive during the encounter.

:wtf:Damn
I can't understand stupid actions like that. I mean your looking down the barrel of a 9mm and you want to play super stupidman. Too bad she didn't bust a cap in his head when she shot him, save the taxpayers some money but on the flip side she's gonna have some heavy stuff to haul around for the rest of her life. She'll be okay, sounds like a tuff woman to me.

A proper ending to the story, good job officer!

We've gotten to a point in this country that incident's like this against police are becoming all too common. Two officers on patrol should be the new normal.
This POS thought she wouldn't shoot, he thought wrong. Im glad the officer was not injured

Two officers on patrol should be the new normal.
Two officers may often let there guard down, while one officer keeps more on his/her toes, that's what I remember from the two police academies I graduated from. Of course, there is no hard and fast rule, it is entirely up to the individual officer's mental alertness at the time.

to answer the question;
IMO you have to be a total idiot
to not comply & attack an armed trained office of the law
justice was served, the Lame *** perp, was wrong
officer was righteous

Here's the aftermath in the current state of NY (SF, DC, Baltimore, LA, etc).
Media....officer shoots unarmed man.
Politicians.....outrage.
Citizens.....protest.
Trial......swayed by publicity.
Officer.....fired.
City.......sued.
Suspect.....rich.
Copycats......Rinse, dry, repeat.

Removed the word 'communist' and replaced with 'current' as per forum rules. (by KiwiGTX)

i do agree that the guy was a moron.
i do agree she was justified in protecting herself...

however..this could have went better.
the first time i watched this vid,i thought to myself...
what happened to the taser?

she had the suspect at taser supposedly and then put the taser away.
she waves the flashlight back and forth Repeatedly and cant seem to focus on the suspect,
which is probably what gives him the stupidity to think he can take her.
the suspect advances on her and she retreats...

she doesnt seem to be able to take charge of the situation.
so the suspect closes and strikes her.
then, instead of deploying the taser, from the Start!!,
she draws her gun and shoots the suspect.
while im not saying the guy didnt deserve it,
im pretty sure she could have gotten the suspect in control with the taser.

i do wish this officer the best and hope she can live with it.
it has become a jungle out there..even in our own backyards.

She did act a little nervous and frightened (not a good attitude to display as a cop), which may have made the suspect bolder. But I am still wondering if he was high on something and could not think straight himself, rather than him being just plain stupid.

It's a little too easy to critique someone else's actions. Guy is lucky he did not get two to the chest, and one in the grape. I would not, in a stressful situation, be trying to make a decision which options i'm going to use In a dangerous situation i will use the more lethal alternative to save my life. Tasers are not always effective. Remember he decided to attack, it's on him.

It's easy to critique in an after action report, but during a stressful situation you should not be in a state of analysis paralyisis.

she was called to the scene of a fight with no weapons.
she Had the taser deployed......and put it away when she Should have kept it on him.
plus she hiked across the parking lot and he never ran away.
he had enough time to get away...and didnt.

i completely agree with mr Dibbons.
the guy acted like he was zoned, totally.
most people in a fight would start talking right away and he looked and acted more like a zombie.
i would not be surprised to learn down the road it was meth or something bad he took.
another sad example of how drugs can not only ruin your life but others as well.

Tazers are not effective when the subject has a coat on. Plus, on a rapidly escalating situation like this the choice to use deadly force was dictated by the action of the suspect.
