After this amount of time I am wondering who/how many of us have the 1970 Sport Satellite. Certainly many were made but I don’t see many at all anywhere.

If you have one please identify your drive line and features. Most were fully equipped with AC PB Automatics

PS PB AC
Originally 318 engine
A904 auto on the column
Bucket high back seats with folding buddy middle seat.
271 gears - peg leg
Unknown rear end (will update)

I've got one. B7 blue, White vinyl top, white pin stripe, white/blue interior. Buckets with console.
318, 904 auto, 323 8 3/4" rear.

My cousin had one along time ago. It was awesome looking. It was red w/ white top w/ white interior. 383 auto on the floor

Daughters first car: 318 auto, ps, a/c, am/fm, drove to/from her job at Disneyland

My guess is that after 1969, the 8 1/4" axle became the standard unless a towing package was chosen. I'm in a deal to buy a 70 Charger that was built with a 383 2 barrel, 727 and an 8 1/4" axle.
My own '70 Charger was a 318-904- 8 1/4" axle setup originally.

A 1970 Sport Satellite was almost my 2nd car! I have loved B body cars since first seeing the '69 Charger in The Dukes Of Hazzard.
A Co-Worker at Burger King had one but it was a 318 car. My '69 Dart was a 318 and not too peppy. I figured a heavier Satellite would be even slower. His was that pale yellow color, had headers, aluminum Hurricane wheels and actually sounded really cool to a 17 year old kid!

Hey 69b3rt are ya sure you have the 8-3/4? Was that factory installed? Seems weird with a 318...

Yes, my car is 8 3/4 rear with 3.23 gears. The car is all stock.

As I mentioned, an 8 3/4" may have been part of a towing package but that would have likely also included a 727 instead of a 904. Maybe the assembly plant ran short of 8 1/4" axles and slipped in an 8 3/4" axle that day. It wasn't uncommon. The rule that "Rick Ehrenberg" used to say was that the factory used to use what was available but not to down-grade, in other words, if it called for a medium duty part, a heavier duty part could be substituted but NOT vice-versa.

Just in time manufacturing hahaha

My hat is off to all you guys who didn't build Roadrunner clones! Long live the Satellite.
The previous owner of my 70 Satty droptop removed the chrome body trim and installed RR tail lights but didn't install a RR bulge hood, no RR badging and left the original dash. So it's sort of an almost clone. When people ask what car it is, I do not hesitate to tell them it's a Satellite ( my 3rd 70 Saty droptop). However, if a B5 bulge hood in great shape dropped in my lap, I would def use it. It just looks better on that car than the flat hood.

Yeah I don’t have clearance for my set up with the stock hood. So I am seriously thinking to open the hood for clearance. I hate chopping it but I cannot afford a Beeper hood. Autometal wants like $700 or more for that stamped piece of sheet metal

Had one back in '81 for a couple years, 318 auto, ps, center buddy seat, goldish color, black vinyl top, super straight body, original paint, no rust, and one of Chrysler's best front ends in my opinion (Satellite/GTX/RR). Only photo I have of it:

I believe 383-4 cars would have gotten an 8 3/4 as well.

I think there is one on ebay right now, too.

I have 1970 Sport Satellite B5 383, auto, AC, power disc brakes matching number
Do you know when the front disc brakes were added or did the ID plate indicate it came from the factory that way?

May I ask what the differences were between the Satellite and Sport Satellite? I have a 1970 Satellite that I'm putting a 440 in this summer. I have no interest in cloning a GTX or Road Runner. I'm just curious if the biggest engine in the Sport model was also the 383 two barrel. Appreciate the info.
