Some of you know that I am a Carpenter by trade. I've built houses, schools, apartments, stores, fences, sheds, all sorts of stuff. I enjoy the work and take pride in the work.
SOME people are cheapskates and think they can "do it themselves" to save money and end up building some really screwed up stuff.
Check out the link below to see the work of a Korean guy in Canada:

I saw this thread linked to another several years ago. The OP had a landlord building a "shed" next door to him. Somewhere around page 8-10 the OP posted a YouTube link of two videos. The poor landlord is as clueless as a monkey trying to make spaghetti.

I have a friend and his brother who have absolutely no clue about construction and the one is so tight he squeeks. They know nothing of 16" centers. If a sheet of plywood is 4' wide, they put the studs at 4' and don't even think to put them on center so they put two studs side by side. They buy small brackets to put in all the corners 'cause they haven't figured how to nail or screw at an angle. Nor have they ever considered building a wall flat and then standing it up. The fortunate thing (I guess) is that they've never built anything that required a permit.

My younger brother and I did a better job building a tree house when we were 12 and 15 yrs old. Scary stuff! And the building permit? Lol

Wow... that's bad! I tend to feel sorry for people like this rather than laugh, it's really not a hard concept but I've seen really bad barns that stood decades that weren't built much better.

Being a Machinist has been a curse sometimes when doing projects around the house! I was fortunate to
get interested in a magazine called "Fine Homebuilding" when it first came out in the early 80's. Read every
issue from cover to cover. Learned a lot! Kept the issues for reference, but it's harder to actually "Do" than
it is to read about it. I can see where a good Carpenter gets comfortable when he does the same type of
work every day. I love dabbling on construction projects, but they have all taken longer than I thought.

here's part 2, at least he finished it!

they should call that "folk art" and put it in a museum

the sad part is, that's probably just how they did it where he's from. perhaps how he was taught
pictures of neighborhoods in Seoul, South Korea. First one taken in the 60's
they might have actually torn down all the slums by this point
pretty sure a lot of the country is very developed these days

Hope it is some place it doesn't snow or rain. If it snows it collapses if it rains board on the ground warp and rot.

My god the money that was wasted on materials! I think my wife (who has never done anything like this before) could do at least 50%better I'd say no gaps and no overlapping parts
