So I bought a motor Ina package deal. Now that I’ve had a chance to look at it is:

Out of a Windsor built 1969 fury 4 door. And it’s a factory 383 HP motor. Who would do that or is this maybe a cop car? Only 7900of these made that year, who knows how May could have come with the 383 HP motor! It was manufactured dec 11 1968.

When I was a teenager, one of my friend's Dad had a C body, 69 or 70 Chrysler Station wagon. Complete with the woodgrain side decals. It had a 383 Magnum, or I think Chrysler called it a "TNT". It was orange, and had the high rise exhaust manifolds, 4 bbl carb etc. Pretty sure it was original. This would have been in about 1976.

4 door, non-cop H code cars are not necessarily rare.

I've personally seen quite a few.

Having a 383-4 is not the point. There wasn’t supposed to be a C body 383 HP assembly like there was for A and B bodies. All C bodies were supposed to have the low power 330 horse.

Linking a C body to a 383 HP assembly is fairly interesting.

OK, once again, I see I'm out of my league.

This is what I was kinda thinking too. I would like to know more about it but I imagine no one kept any interesting records on this one. I wonder if it was special ordered for government or police service etc....?

PE-

Economy?

Does it have A38 on the tag?

PE is the first two didgits of the vin. It means Fury I 1967-1971

I don’t have the car (thank goodness) just the engine

I parted out a 69 Fury III cop car with a 383 4-bbl. Was painted blue and was not stamped HP but had hp exhaust manifolds and the hp unsilanced air cleaner.
