I was just trying to verify which flexplate to mate my 78 440 to an early 727.
They don't even know their own product line...or its applications.

I guess things don't go well when a Holley guy tries to figure out transmissions.

Is this a fresh rebuild? If yes, how was the engine balanced at the machine shop?
Not fresh...I've got a thread going in member projects...gives the whole story...but that's not the point....point is B&Ms (owned by Holley) own "tech" people don't know that their company manufactures and sells a weighted and a non weighted flexplate for exactly this application.

Ahhh, I see.

I hate it when I have to tell specialists how to do their jobs.

I've had to do that with doctors, lawyers, and support techs from industry leading technology companies.

Makes me wonder how many people just roll over and accept "we can't do that" or "I don't know" as an answer.

And I'm not sure which is worse for their organization, that they don't know, or that they do what I tell them.

I wouldn't condemn the whole company based on one tech's reply. Call back and talk to someone else. And while you're at it, ask to speak to a supervisor and tell them about your experience so they can train that first guy or get them off their tech line. Might be helpful to the next customer seeking a correct answer.

Certainly not condemning anyone but Mason...and his supervisor.

As far as passing it up the command chain...yeah..already done
