I need some spark plugs and just installed some summit headers on my 440 in my 68 charger and worried I'll have trouble with clearance, installing the plugs and wire boots. I also just installed a 1970 electronic ignition mod. Would the shorty header plugs be a good idea? Any reasons not to use them? What kind should I get? And what are some good wires? preemptive thanks!

I'm able run Autolite 65's and Taylor wires with 135 degree boots with my TTI

headers. Not sure of the pipe routing of the Summit headers but there are lots of ways to keep from smoking your wires

Where exactly do you have a clearance issue and how is there interference? I've ran the Accel yellow shorty plugs in the past and they worked fine for me, fyi.

I have a 68 charger, the Summit headers and Trick Flow heads. (Angled plugs) I had to dimple the # 2 & 8 tubes. I’m using a standard size E3 spark plug. If your heads have straight plugs you should be ok without having to dimple any tubes and use a shorty or standard plug.

Like purpleBeep, I've run the Accel shorty and it was pretty good, think I had to get them from summit though. I later switched to an autolite ar3933 because I found the size difference was doable for me and I could get them at kragen's.

Don't really know yet, just anticipating tight spots from previous header experiences.

I used J 7s lawn mower plugs on my 426 Max Wedge back in the 70s. Did great, points at first then factory electronics then MSD 6 gapped at .060
