Anyone know if hood and trunk latches/catches should be painted body color?

I am having my car painted and just want to be sure. Oh, this is a 1969 Coronet 440.

The hood secondary catch is painted body color, with the bolts as well. Then nothing else for the hood the rest is phosphate or cad depending what it is. Here is a good photo from a survivor RR.

Trunk gets a little more interesting. Note the one painted bolts on the latch assembly, I have seen latches painted and clearly adjusted leaving marks in the paint after. However, here is a pic from the restoration of a Mopar Nats winning Bee, from the Lift Off Hood forum that should help you for the tail.

Probably not strictly correct...but I made the bolts cadmium plated. The hardware was stripped and cleaned, then sprayed with Kephos. ..a liquid metal protectant. ...looked like new even after 18 years.

I just checked they David Wise book on the trunk striker. To quote “Often the striker is mounted prior to paint and the position is adjusted after paint.” He goes further to say that if the striker is painted, then the bolts should be painted. But that due to lack of clarity in cars he has studied, unpainted strikers and bolts are probably OK, though majority were painted.
