Help me decide on what to do with my 69 Ramcharger ductwork

You have about 3/4”-1” of HOOD clearance with a 383 and a 383 airgrabber air cleaner. Going to a 440 airgrabber air cleaner will buy you another 3/4” HOOD clearance. That’s the first part I’d be worried about.
Then if you leave the seal off the center portion of the duct work you may be able to buy another 3/4”
Total stack height first then the airgrabber.
So you are making it sound like a guy can install only the 2 side pieces of the ductwork on the hood and nothing else? Then run a standard air cleaner like I showed on my blue Road Runner in the pic above?

Yeah, that is one of my questions. I have never had a car with this style hood before. The car was taken apart when I bought it and I am not certain what all needs to be utilized if I just run s standard air cleaner.

Run the scoops only and send me your entire airbox set up, I'll take good care of it! :D

Just be sure to paint the inside of the scoops body colour.

Looks badass dadsbee!! I actually think it looks cleaner that way then with all the airbox crap under there. I mean I get it for a resto that's stock, but it doesn't look bad at all the way that blue hood is now.

No, it looks better with the air box under there! Was just showing it can also look very clean without it...

Nope... what I’m saying is the hood will be more of an issue for height than the duct work will be and if needed you can achieve the clearance by going with the 440 base to buy some more room. If you find that you have the HOOD clearance with what ever option and the duct work seems to tight around the base of the air cleaner, then remove the seal. Most people won’t ever notice the difference with the seal gone.

Just remember, the center ring has to go in first if you're using it all, so if you only mount the sides and then change your mind you're taking them back off (or at least one side may give you slip in room) to put the center on.

Yea I knew you had it all assembled I watched your build come along. To each his own, I prefer the factory hood showing without the plastic stuff. Some of that stuff to me just looks like too much from time to time. Plain jane for me is my linking. Either way they look great as does yours!

I would not install just the sides, that would not function well or look good. All or nothing, I think it will look good either way.
My car doesn’t run any different with or without it. More of a novelty than a performance upgrade.

All it really offered was free water injection when driving on a misty night.. something none of us probably do with our cars anymore!

Problem with that is we are going for 550 hp/550 ft. lbs. Even the Weiand would be a major restriction.
It’s a better intake then the Edelbrock Performer to start out with

Have him port the Weiand 8008 Action Plus Dual Plane like you where going to do with the Performer
