Howdy,

The 400 in my car has pitting in the cylinders, so I'm putting the top end together for my 383 magnum. I need new valve springs to go with what I'm told is an old crane 'cheater' cam. Something like .500 lift. It's going to be for street/strip use.

There is such a wide variety of spring rates and widths it's overwhelming. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

5892 Edelbrock valve springs for iron heads is a good choice.Sounds like a old mild cam little more than stock. I have used these in several builds and for $60 worked well for me.My 2 cents.

Thanks. I'll check them out. Do i need new retainers as well? Or will the stock retainers work?
