Would anybody have or know of a source to buy the trim piece that wraps around the back side of the top portion of a buddy seat as shown in this pic? It covers up the slit in the fabric.

I’d like one too. But not a dry rotted one.
They are made out of plastic, aren't they? I have never had one to know. You mean dry rot like old kick panels get when they flake apart?

Yes! The one I had just fell apart in my fingers. I intended to make one myself out of PVC flat stock, but just never got there yet.

Where would a guy buy a piece of pvc to make my own?

Somewhere like this:
https://www.professionalplastics.com/

There are plastics distributors/retailers in every large city. The down side is that for what you want many will want to sell you a full 4 x 8 sheet (that's 4 x 8 FEET !!). I have a full sheet - sadly its orange.

Hunt I may have one, let me check.

Not perfect but usable. Depends on what quality your looking for. Texture gone in a couple spots on screw side. And some on pivot side. Let me know.

You'll never match that texture in commercial plastic materials.

Got one coming. Thanks a bunch Tim .

So are you going to use the buddy seat you got from me or did you hunt down an original black one ?

Here is the "I guarantee this seat is not green" that I got from you :poke:.
Anyway, that wouldn't work in my world so I ordered new covers from Legendary. Just got them last week and found out there is a difference in covers.

So this is what I have learned in case others are dealing with this. The seat I got from Stanton was out of a 68 Charger, which we knew before he sent it. You can see on the back it is just overlapped and held in place with 2 screws. This is how all 68's were made. In 69 they went to having a slit in the cover and hiding it with the plastic trim peice. This system was used on all buddy's made 69 and later. And the second pic is of what Legendary sent me which is correct for a 69 like 69 GTX posted above. So with the trim peice from Tim, new covers to match my 69 pattern, and a 68 core seat, I should be set for my Bee.
I am still looking for an original 69 black one though that I would put in my other car.
