Hello all,

I am shopping for an aluminum radiator for my big block '68 Coronet. I want a 26" radiator and do not care about original appearance. The radiator needs to handle a ~550hp engine for street use.

I've heard good things about Cold Case, but have a key question. My understanding is that the radiator inlet/outlet sizes are 1.5" and 1.75". Note I don't have a radiator at present, but I have new hoses that also measure these dimensions. I've called Cold Case and they confirmed that their units are made with 1.5" and 1.625" inlet/outlets. They claim these are the stock sizes. I've consulted with other vendors and they stick by 1.5" and 1.75".

So who's right? I can't believe that Cold Case would be supplying radiators that don't fit...but I can't find any lower hoses that measure 1.625".

Please advise - what is the stock lower radiator hose size?

Thanks!

BTW I have been surfing looking for a lower radiator hose that is 1.625" ID and can't find anything. I am nearly sold on the Cold Case radiator, but this lower hose size doesn't make sense. I can measure my water pump housing, but I bet it is also 1.75" diameter.

From what I've read, cold case seems willing to work with people, so tell them you want the proper size nipple and see where it goes.

Got mine at 1.75” per their recommendation, interesting. @Ccas

Hmm I think there must be some typos on their website. Their website shows the MOP754K as having a lower size of 1.625".

Think I will give Ccas a shout to clear this up.

That is confusing! But so are most parts for Mopars! :BangHead: Give me a 1/2 day to do consult with our product manager and do some measurements. :)

Apparently our circle is slightly smaller. The raised bead makes up the difference and a 1.75" hose works fine.

OK thanks for checking into this. I will be placing an order when it's time for the radiator.

Ok, talk about confusing. Looking at your site, P/N MOP750A has the outlets switched around on the tanks and the drain plug as well. With that, your description of "These radiators are original appearing and have the correct stamping. Once painted, you'd be hard pressed to find a difference over an original versus a COLD-CASE" would be?..........

To the OP, you might want to make sure the radiator you want/need is right for your car BEFORE buying

I'm pretty confident MOP750A is the correct picture. If you are going by the model and year applications, I'll agree that we have a long way to go on that but that's because MOPAR radiators appear, disappear and then reappear on so many different models and years we just don't like to list the Mopar radiators by year and model but rather by dimensions and inlet/outlet positions. Also, many owners switch motors from year to year making it literally impossible to list radiators by year and model.
If you look at MOP754A and MOP757A, they match your above description. The MOP757A was added recently for 1966-1970 for most C-body owners. It's the same as MOP754A except the front rails have been modified to accept the oem fan shroud for C-bodies.

MOP750A is the same exact radiator but with the inlet/outlet reversed for engine swaps.
