OK, get ready for a stupid question (seriously, I don't know)....Can that vacuum advance arm be turned over 180-degrees????

Okay, my question time, is the left for a small block and right for big block?

The one pictured on the left look like a 6 cylinder VA

The right is definitely for a big block. Also, how much vacuum is your engine making? If it's low from a big cam, you can get a custom can from Don at FBO to engage at 5inMg. If not, Tony's parts has the stock ones on hand. Better than any parts store will get you as far as correctness and something that will work correctly.

As an alternative you could go to Summit Racing and order this Standard Products unit. I am assuming you are ordering for a big block? If so, this one is very nice, I just used two of them on two projects. They operate very smoothly and adjust well, better than some of the cheaper units that I have seen. These look like the electronic ignition unit, so up to you how much correct appearance matters.

I have a Sun machine, the cheaper units operate sort of in a jerky movement, these were very smooth.
