I have a ‘78 440 from a Chrysler New Yorker I just dropped in my roadrunner. It was an A/C and power steering car.

I have the original ‘69 383hp no A/C with power steering (saginaw) I just pulled from my roadrunner.

I put the water pump housing from the 383 on the 440. I have the 2 groove 383 crank pulley and 4 groove 440 crank pulley. I also have the 440 alternator, 2 groove pulley, and brackets and the A/C compressor but I’m not using the A/C. I have the 383 alternator, single groove pulley, and brackets.

I don’t have the 440 water pump pulley it did not come with the engine.

I was hoping to break this engine in this weekend but nothing is lining up. Any suggestions?

Anyone have any parts near Muncie, Indiana available?

Everything from the 383 needs to go on the 440 including the water pump housing. One bolt hole in the crank pulley won’t line up. See the top bolt holein photos. See where it is compared to the key way in the balancer. You can grind the hole out sideways so it lines up and use it. It’s not quite half the bolt diameter.

All the 1978 440 A/C stuff is different and won’t interchange for what you want to do. If you keep it all together you might be able to sell it to somebody.

Yep, R413 nailed it. All the stuff from the 383 bolts right on except ovalling out the one crank pulley bolt hole.

Everything from the 383 did work once the crankshaft damper nut was properly torqued. Thanks for the help.
