I am sure this has been asked many times but here it goes. I would like to purchase a new or rebuilt set of lower control arms. I have already replaced the uppers last year. So buying a set of QA1's is not an option. As I would have to replace the new uppers also. I am aware of the rebuild kits and welding in the stiffeners but would like to know if they are available all done.

Why can't you use QA1 lowers with stock uppers? In any case Firm Feel sells reinforced stock ones on an exchange basis.

I don’t believe the QA1 ones work with the sway bar. They are for the 70 and up style IIRC.

Do you know how many cars are running around WITHOUT the reinforced lowers ? LOTS ! If you can't weld those in yourself, don't bother (unless you're doing autocross with the car !!).

Qa1 changed the geometry by 3 degrees. So you would have to change the uppers also. Even their literature says to use their uppers if changing the lowers. Both upper and lower need to be offset by 3 degrees. Stock uppers are not.

From what I have read you need to use both because of the geometry change. Now I just read for my model year I would need to use their K-member. Part #52308 is a direct fit for 1970-72 B-body and 1970-74 E-body. Will work on 1966-69 B-body with QA1 K-member and sway bar, and 1962-72 B-body without sway bar.

Buy the stiffening plates, bushings and send them to me. I’ll blast em, weld the plates on, paint and install the bushings. Very simple to do, but if you don’t have the tools or know how, then ask for some help, like I said, I’ll do it.
