My health condition I would like to share

I wish you a speedy and successful recovery @Moparfeind

My latest mentor at work retired earlier than expected at 66 just a couple of months ago...due to needing a quadruple bypass. Knocked him around a bit, but he is doing really well...thanks mainly to great health care and modern techniques. His Surgeon and wife were making fun of where to farm suitable arteries from his body...his wife suggested the big one in his 'willy' ...as it didn't get used much these days anyway. :D keep smiling and you'll be fine.

You're enthusiasm is a blessing to all.. thanks for sharing the beat goes on story. Best of health and happiness to come your way

Congrats! and have a speedy recovery. The car will be there waiting........

Thank you my fellow gear head friends here! I am glad to be part of this great group of real deal people! I am a lucky guy to have this second chance and this gift will nit be wasted or disrespected in any way. Some beautiful person passed to give me this and thats not a burden but rather the ultimate gift!

I was think about what this group means to me and wanted to share a bit more. Back in the old days you could easily find guys around the block wrenching on their cars and working in their garage or “doin it in the drive way”. You know those drive ways that were all beat up and gravely with a strip of grass in the middle. Needed to borrow a tool or share a way to solve a problem? Not a problem just walk over to where you hear all the clanking and cussing. The question would illicit that typical response by the neighbor.......out came the blue handkerchief a quick blow on the nose...a thought an idea and a smile. I feel I get that here and it’s valuable informative and fun. The collective information here is incredible!

Today is very different. I rarely see anyone working in their garage on anything. Times change and that will allow be. The loss of connection to people is whats an unfortunate consequence. Craftsmanship is out there its just more spread out and connected in a different way. Thats why these forums and great YouTube blogs are great.

I look forward to getting back doing what I enjoy. This work is my motivation and drives me. Its only a burden when that wrench slips off that blind nut and drops down into the bottomless hole on the floor in the garage where strange things are never seen again. Or when the tool you need is on top of the car and your under it, or well you know lol.

Recovery going great. Lots of permanent changes with lots of needed future care but I feel very fortunate for everything! Life becomes that much sweeter. I am disciplined and will do what ever I need to do.

Now I no longer have any pacemakers and defibrillators which means I can leave the ignition on when I change my timing. I can pick of a mig welder as well without fear of getting kicked in the chest. So the future is bright and another beautiful day begins!

Much appreciation to all our veterans out there and to all who sacrifice for us here! This country is the best place to be. We walk like kings here and many just don’t know it!

Thanks again for all your well wishes! Truly means a lot.

You are the man of steel. To go through those surgeries and be up and about is impressive. Thanks for the updates and continue to keep us updated.
I miss the "motorhead commaraderie" of yesterday. Even back in the 1990s my car club wrenched together on various members cars and projects. It was nice to have a lifeline when you were stumped, or just needed that third hand, or a supervisor to critique your work while he was consuming the beer out of your fridge. Today if I get in trouble on a car project it's a flat bed tow somewhere or I'm breaking out 50 dollar bills for wrench help.
Even the flip side I offer to help the younger car guys in the neighborhood and even did a road side repair on a stranded 68 cougar awhile back and the guy ignores my offer to help.
Not sure if we can blame the internet on this one, but you did bring up a good point about the car hobby today.
Keep up the efforts on your recovery and your ride!

Congrats on the new heart and install. My aunt went through the same thing in 2010 and has done just great.
Just do what the Drs. tell you and keep on truckin !

Prayers for a speedy recovery so you can get back to work on your car! You are pretty impressive for having the motivation to work on it even now as you recover. Maybe us AZ guys can get together again sometime this year to catch up.
