DePouli's 1969 Charger 318

Well, not sure what to do here. Repro weatherstrip/stainless moulding for the rear quarters needs to be secured to the repro upper door pad.

Originals we're stapled. Repro weatherstrip has holes for screws. Repro door pad has no holes.
Afraid to drill and screen the holes as I'm not sure the dashpad will then go over the inner panel that bolts to the inner door panel.

Thinking maybe about epoxy. Anyone deal with this yet?

Well got some glass setting tape and door panel clips at Dennis Carpenter's today. While he's a Ford guy he is nice and close for generic restoration stuff.

I installed the inner door panels. I did check before I put them on that drilling and screwing the weatheratrip to the upper door panel should clear the inner panel, but will save that for later

Today after work I out the door lock cylinders in, but discovered I need to find the hardware for the lock linkage to the door. Have to consult @moparnation74's thread to see what they look like. I'm sure I have them just didn't label them good I guess.

I did have the hardware to install the sail panel emblems and will need those on prior to headliner so went for it.

My immediate goal is basically to get the car ready for headliner, but I need to drive it to my guy I want to do the headliner so a bit more than just some interior prep.

Actually your post 849. Do you have a closer shot of the door end? and or specifically the the two screws/bolts that hold the lock lever thing to the jam. thanks.

Your car, your proyect and how you documented the entire process is a reference for current and future restoration /repair projects, I really don't understand why this a...hole told you that, anyway, thank you for always being willing to help another member's with their project's, am still waiting for you to show me your collection of NOS Mexican mopar parts :bananaweed:

Brian

It didn't dawn on me until I was searching for pics.....The Plymouth line did not use that mechanism. That was a charger specific item. I searched through the restoration photos I have on my charger but I wasn't as detailed at that time "pic wise"....

The you pictured above are the correct bolts......

I am taking frequent water breaks and only got like 2 hours between races so not getting much done. Gonna bring some more stuff in to work on in the AC hopefully.

She's coming along beautifully !
And it seems we swapped weather with you lol. Our temps in SW AZ have been much cooler than average and so nice. Keep hydrated.

I heard... my coworker lives in Phoenix and said it was a mild mid 70's out there.

Thanks for the kind words!

You'll see 3 locations on the inner frame this clip onto that are -bumped out- a bit towards the outside of the car.

I set the pads over the top and marked the areas that would have less clearance.(as to not put rivets there)

Then took flat vice grips and clamped the fuzzy to the door pad, drilled and attached with black anodized rivets.

Your car looks great!

Your brisket made me hungry. I think I need to go BBQ something.
Your doing great work.

So when the car was at the paint shop I had them tube the motor, but they found two sizable coolant leaks. One from. The heater control valve, which I bought a spare and replaced, if that doesn't work I'm going to follow @showard's approach and have Classic air fix the one I took off.

The other leak was from the heater nipple on the intake. It wasn't great when I did the car 23 years ago and I should have replaced it this time, but I wanted to create more work for myself. So intake came off and had it cut out and replaced it. Got the intake back this week so now all back together.

When the wife gets back from the store where I asked her to grab some more coolant I will fire it up and see how I did.

Think I'm gonna have to stop by Classic air to get a rubber grommet anyway for the AC thing here.

Went to install the hood pad... Holes for the clips on the repro hood are 3/16.
IMG_20190601_123124.jpg

Holes in the OEM hood are 1/4.
IMG_20190601_123206.jpg

Had to drill them out... That's scary trying not to dent the hood, or nick the turn signal wires but it seems I did ok.

That's a royal pain in the:asskiss:
IMG_20190601_132524.jpg

Got to go scrub off all the fiberglass and change my shirt.

Well that was a disaster...

Still leaking but not from any of the previous places...

Car wouldn't start with the key... Got the remote starter out... Car was it park but noticed it moved.

Got in and forgot about the hood being up

Tried to move the shifter around and the car lurched back...

Hood now needs to be repainted:mad:

Could have been worse but so pissed. It scraped on the bottom of my lift.
