Specialty bolt/nut/fastener store sold me some 1/2" lug nuts for my '72 Satellite that use a 13/16" socket instead of the 3/4" socket. I'm OK right? (I have a star lug wrench so it's fine by me).

Yes. In some cases they work better to help prevent "pull through". Especially if you have thinner repro wheels

No problem as long as your clamping force at the wheel remains the same to retain the torque of the nut.

I've got Crager SS wheels all the way around. The lug nuts are a real mix/match, so I need to order some new ones. Is it worth the time and effort to change the driver's side lugs over to right hand twist like the passenger's side is; or just leave it?

changing the left hand thread lug nuts is a personal call as there is nothing wrong with them whatsoever. As long as you remember the way they turn no damage will be done...its the folks who are not familiar with the set up that screws things up.
