Hello everyone I was thinking about purchasing the Sniper set up please share your stories how do you like it better then old fashioned carburetor

Turn key, wait for fuel pump to shut off, turn key, engine fires up, settles down to a nice idle and off you go.

No more worrying about a carb when you get to altitude, just drive.

I love my Terminator set up, so does my 470, my buddies hot 340 and soon my uncles 383.

I don't like knocking a product but when I got a no start in hot weather I lost all my faith in the aftermarket Fuel Injection. Had to flat bed car home, but it started when cold next day, but again no hot start. Put carbs back on and running again. As a back up do I keep a carb in the trunk for the no hot start again?

Don’t know about the brand the op asked about but Edelbrock Pro Flo 4 EFI is the best thing since buttered bread. No going back.

I had mine on for 2 years before I had a no hot start problem which converted to 1450 miles in 2 years. I sent unit back to Company and replaced ECU in throttle body. How do you troubleshoot this new Technology? At least factory installed you can put a scanner on to let you know what's FU. I may just keep the carbs on, at least I know if their working or not. After seeing the edelbrock pro 4 I may go with that.

I like it a lot.
No hesitation whatsoever on a tunnel ram.
Had a fuel pressure issue that drove me crazy, turned out to be the wrong type of hose on the in tank pump.
Teflon fuel lines are easy peasy to put the fittings on and install.
Still need to bend the pedal rod a little to get full throttle.

I will never go back to a carburetor on my GTX! I went with the MSD ATOMIC system. The only hiccup that I have had is when I entered an incorrect setting.

As many will say, they work great. Just be mentally prepared that if something isn't working correctly with it you'll be on the tech line until its corrected. Its a bit frustrating to diagnose the problem. But when they work they are great.

I waited due to horror stories about tuning and problems too. This one seems to be more plug and play than previous versions. A friend with a Chevy put efi on his 396 and NEVER was able to drive it. It was a competitor to the Edelbrock. Couldn’t tune it. If you look at edelbrockforums, you have direct right now access to techs. Side effects can’t be underestimated. Cleaner oil, exhaust etc. Tank selection and cost is crirical and can be costly. PWM pump and Ricks Tanks El Paso was my choice. So far so good. Tank, pump, and fuel line pumbing equaled efi purchase price so don’t underestimate it. Lower cost, underhood fuel pumps are too close to engine compartment heat in my opinion. Don’t go there.

The pro flo looks great but I do not think I have the clearance on my 67 that manifold looks high I am running a Indy dual plane and had to run a drop base filter set up but that one seems like it is way up there if anyone has installed that on a 67 X let me know

That’s always a concern. Mine equals the height of the former Edelbrock Rpm high rise with an 850 Demon. Power bulge hood on the 69. Consensus is it is equal or less than most setups but you are wise to research.

EFI IS FOR TUNER'S THAT HAVE NO SOULS!

Sorry, is that alittle too "Old School?"

Broke my heart to give up the 850 Demon. No choice. Lousy ethanol fuel the primary reason.

We have non-oxy 91 octane sold at many locations. My 440 loves it. I have mixed the 100+ aviation fuel before as well. It loves that too. (But exhaust smells a little different.)

I run E-85 on my high compression Duster bracket car. Thru a 1050 4150 quick flow metered for E-85. Runs good. But exhaust smells a little like fried french fries. Lol.

I have considered EFI. But until I see a better reason than "Tuneability?" Just can't justify conversion costs.

Wait till ya go from low elevation to high and your car starts running like ****.

EFI is the way to go, if you drive your car. Race it, carb it!

I don't change elevation much and like to tinker on and keep my cars in tune. In fact, up until I stopped driving my 66 Belvedere, it still had points like all of my street cars did. Only my race car had electronic ignition and that was mainly because it was seeing 7k rpm. FI does have it's good things about it like you don't have to get under the hood hardly at all unless it's leaking coolant or oil and that's the thing I don't like about it. It allows me to be lazy....

I just had my mechanic friend install the FiTech Go Street 400 Hp system. So far it runs great. I need to learn all about it in case something goes wrong with it. As stated above, probably will need to be on the phone with one of their techs until its resolved. As for now, love the response and picks.

I have noticed the sniper does not work with a dual plane intake and that is what I am running

It will. Just notch the divider wall.
