Who's the mindless twerp?

He’s probably offended that you’re less than half of what he wants. At 2, you’re still 1500 over what I’d pay, but I’m not a numbers guy. He’s looking for the guy restoring a 70 six pack car and willing to pay full price. If you’re willing to pay 3.5 and went in at 3, you might have had better luck but might have had to come up with 4.
He had what I wanted so I thought it wouldn't hurt to throw a number at him. I guess his feelings got hurt! I can't afford 2 grand right now but possibly could have scratched it up. If I am going to rebuild a block I would prefer it to be a '70 not the '69 that I have.

When something is ridiculously overpriced I just move on. If you get into it with the seller then it just pisses you off more. Its like trying to change someone's view on abortion, veganism, animal rights or gun control ... it can't be done.
I did not reply to him. I think his words were, "Whatever, who cares what a mindless twerp thinks, anyways." I guess he did!

Again,
asking price oneBay is just that: "Asking Price"
Selling Price is entirely a different thing

However, stupid is as stupid does, some nut will buy it!

@Ghostrider_67 Ultra rare 6-pack motor home perhaps??

:bs_flag::lol:

actually, there was an urban legend of a Supposed chrysler Exec having a motorhome outfitted with a hemi install.
again,supposedly,
this vehicle broke down at some point i think in late 70-s down in the carolinas and the hemi was swapped out for a 440.
the owner was headed to florida at the time.
this was how the vehicle came to light,
because the shop that did the repairs had never seen a hemi in a motorhome..again,supposedly,but i do remember the story.
hows that for different??

The "mindless twerp" thing would not sit well with me either. There is another 1970 block out there somewhere. Put a WTB ad on this forum.

I will, as soon as the body shop is paid! Then it's drivetrain time!

I want to thank everyone for responding to this. You are all awesome! I knew I was right in calling it just a 440 block and would not have known that if not for this site. This guy obviously tries to find suckers. I'm really glad he didn't take me up on 2 grand! I suppose I was being a dick in calling him out, though. I wouldn't have minded being called a well informed twerp!

The block I used in that build was a 70 casting for a late 70 or 71 build. It sonic checked really thick and cleaned up at .030 over. I charged $400 for it as a core. $5k is just plain extortion....

This seems more like it.Found it on CL.
