I could use some ideas...

I have my 1970 B Body motor out to a place called passion for Mopars. Must have read the only good post on the forum before doing so. Sent it out in January, its now June. Shouldn't that be enough time? Since then I have spoke to Kim many times with the same response. "It's still out to platers" and " Should be back thursday...."
So here we are...
I have since read many pages on this forum that are all negative.
I wasn't going to write another One but this person has absolutely NO PASSION FOR MOPARS. My car is ready to go. I had it out last week with no wiper motor and an expired NYS inspection. Of Course -- I cannot pass NYS inspection without a wiper motor.... My Car is all numbers matching, so it means a lot to me to keep it that way...

Any Ideas? Please read before sending anything to kim. It's 2019 and how long can this continue. Obviously It can't if people like me do more research before sending off a piece of a loved MOPAR

Another dissatisfied customer I see....Sorry, you ran into the dark side of our hobby. Her antics never change but what kills me is people still send her stuff....All one has to do is google her or ask on any forum....FYI MOFARTS is split because of personal relationships from the powers that be that turn a blind eye.........

Tell her to send your motor back to you.....I bet it will end up being finished fast....As you see in the thread above, I would not use it....Unless you want the possibility of a fire or a useless motor....

Just get in touch with Bill Meerholz and let him restore it...

Kim rebuilt a motor for me - outstanding work.
Same experience as others, would i do it again?
Depends, If I needed it quick (8-12 weeks) no
If I needed a concourse quality motor and 6 months to rebuild, definitely.
Rather frustrating, but in the end, her rebuilds can't be beat.
I wish she would advertize on her website what to realistically expect (5-6) months instead of weeks

Bill is the guy to get, fantastic job quick turn around and no bullshit.

Thank You for the input.
Anyone know a good way to get her to get my motor done or back to me? I get the feeling she lost it. How about you @Danny Boy ? Did your motor just arrive after 6 months without a lot of calls and emails? How long ago did you have it done?

You can't want your car on the road that bad. If you did you'd have a junker motor in there to pass your inspection and you'd be driving the car.

Thanks for that. I head down to auto zone and pick one up...
More importantly I was interested in letting people know my experience with Passion for Mopars
and to see if my experience was more common than a good one...
Thank You

Her motors have never been concourse quality!....Many others have shown this in many threads but people still send her stuff.....Just because you get a shiny CAD plated can does not mean it is concourse standards and great work......

BTW her rebuilds suck.....Guess you're happy with an incorrect non concourse motor with glass beads inside and painted parts that's should have been plated and wires not connected properly....That is what I received as posted in the thread above.....I went and checked my previous motor and guess what I found the same crap and that motor was done years prior, glad I never used it....Many members here and elsewhere have the same issues, imagine that.....

It doesn't take much to beat the junk she spins out.....Along with here constant excuses and blah blah blah......BEWARE MEMBERS, BEWARE!

This is what a Concourse motor looks like. It was done by the best in the business....Bill Meerholz andsecond best is the guy that took over Jules in Canada IMHO.....

Lets see some good close ups of yours and compare the differences.....

I have no experience with this vendor but I did use Bill. Sent it out and I think I had it back in maybe three weeks. Lots of communication and everything was done when he said it would be done the first time.

Oh and get this... he called and said it was done and on the way back to me. I said - “I don’t think I paid you yet?” He says let me know if your satisfied and then you can pay me. Who does that!?! I threw a check in mail to him that day he called and told me that, got the motor and it was outstanding. Everything was plated and no paint. Gotta give props to the vendors that are like this!

Those sure are some nice looking motors. Am I looking at his site correctly, almost $500. to restore one like pictured above?

Yep. Sound pricey but it’s not when you look at the time, plating, and parts. I don’t think he’s getting rich rebuilding these. Maybe he is, who knows.

Thats the going rate for a concours correct hassle free restored wiper motor. As mentioned above he is not living "caviar dreams" restoring these but is making a profit. The biggest cost factor with these motors is the plating. This is always outsourced and that service goes up yearly and hence the motor restoration cost goes up. If your understanding where I am going with this Bills cost goes up and price goes up to net the same profit. His price is not rising to make more of a profit that is not the type of gentleman Bill is....

He also has a very select plater that provides the correct finishes. Notice the difference in the CAD look in the pictures above? Most of them you see on cars are the "shiny" CAD which is not the correct original finish. Back in the day they used Cad Cyanide to elicit the finish you see on Bill's motors. CAD Cyanide is outlawed and there are only a couple people that do this and it is all behind the scenes and unavailable to consumers....

I'm sure sorry this happened to the OP. I've never needed this type of service personally but my uncle sent his to that Bill guy a few years back,(great experience) and back then we learned where NOT to send a motor! Always pays to do some checking first when considering any service..

Awesome
Thank You ALL... That's what I was looking for. If I ever get mine back I will take pics and post, so you can see the difference. It's MY mistake to send to the wrong person and I just want to prevent another from going the wrong direction. By the way Kim is charging $345. or $365 ! So, The price for that Bill Meerholz restoration is well worth it.

Bill Meerholz is the only one that has the plating close to original.
as soon as I see one of those other shiny turds that stick out from a MILE away
under the hood at a show I can't take the car as being a serious restoration..
