You can have a date coded 1967 car but there is no way to prove it is the original engine unless you have been the only owner since it was new. 1968 was the first year that engines were stamped with the "partial" VIN.you verified the VIN on the block matches the VIN tag ?

When did they start stamping numbers on the radiator support & trunk lip? It's not a VIN# behind rear bumper, it's the SO number that appears on the fender tag. The VIN # should be on the back of the core support. With the build sheet you can verify options for a little more on originality.[/QUOTE]My 66 is supposed to have one on the Radiator Support, and MAY have one behind the Rear Bumper. I've read that not all had the rear number.
