Lowering blocks on rear leaf springs

Tightening up the torsion bars 1" will give you an idea of the look you're after. However, I'd be careful leaving it that way. Venturing too far (up or down) from factory recommended settings will cause over-steer and/or a dive effect. And you may discover there's not enough adjustment to align properly.
Just a suggestion. Try a 27" or 28" front tire.

Yes sir I've been thinking about that too my tires up front are 205 65 15 and my back tires are 275 60 15s steel belted radials which I like I seem to stabilize a car more I did before have on old School tires but the car seemed to have more of a I wondering to what I guess you'd say and when I go around a corner that the sidewalls would allow it to flex too much especially the back and they would rub but I'm going to look at a lot of different things somebody raise the front end up and it's pretty level about a little over half an inch maybe 3/4 of an inch it does look better but now the wheel looks too small in the wheel well
 
I have a pair of 2" blocks I could sell you. I had them installed for a few days, but decided the rear was too stiff for my liking. It had nothing to do with the blocks. I was using heavy duty springs, (7 leafs per side). I removed a leaf from each side, got the drop I wanted and a more comfortable ride.
 
I've had lowering blocks on more than one car before plus have lowered the front end more than a couple of inches too. One I got the stance to where I liked it, the front end was realigned....and over the years once all the front end shop 'old' guys were gone, I learned how to do it myself. It's pretty amazing how these old cars can respond and handle once the camber etc is set to performance specs (as much as can be) and some weight was removed from the nose. Lowered cars and the butt end not up in the air makes a big difference plus traction and handling is better without that Super Stock look. (Disclaimer) if someone likes the SS look, fine with me....I don't and never have cared for it but it's not my car....it's your car. Tanks

Thanks I appreciate your input and I'm trying to take everybody's input and kind of adjust the car I have raised a front end up today but with my front tires on there that I have it looks kind of weird because the tires don't feel the wheel well up enough before I changed it to where it's at now my front tires were actually taller than my back tires so it made the car kind of sit back more and look good but now that I change some of the things it's just done the opposite song still playing with some things and that's interesting about the alignment thing I'd like to find out more about that and how you do it I appreciate you and your input as I do everyone that's trying to help

Maybe you can give me some information of where to look and how to set the front end to the performance spec's you're talkin about I'm very interested

Got to keep in mind that our cars were NOT designed for radial tire use so using the factory specs do not really apply plus it just depends on what you want to do with the car. I like a lot of camber and lots of caster too but Mom saw fit to not offer a whole lot of caster unless you go for the offset upper control arm bushings. Also, there's many people that will argue with what I do with front end specs.....but they work for me. However, I would say for the novice, deviate from the factory settings slightly for normal highway use but if you like to corner burn...then go more. I remember seeing new cop cars that had a lot of camber in them. At first I thought that there were problems with the newer cars (late 70's) but saw more and more that way on them and not the regular customer cars and never heard anyone saying anything about bad front ends. After messing with mine, I felt the difference. Also, when you have a lot of camber, I like to set a bit more toe in but don't get crazy with that. You can also buy camber/caster gauges from cheap to expensive.....that stuff has been out there for a lot of years.

Not particularly but it's not something that's hard to do and it's for sure not going to get under my skin. Got lots of other issues in life that's way worse than reading run on sentences lol. Heck, my Angleash ain't all dat goood either!
