Rusty Superbird, CL not mine

I just blew up the foto of the door sticker (the 5th and last foto posted on CL), and with my poor eyes, I still brought out my magnifying glass.

What I saw at first was the door sticker actually sitting on top of a fender tag. That rusty spot to the left of the door sticker in the foto has letters and numbers imprinted on it like a fender tag anyway. See what I mean?

There is something funky about that door label and I think I see what you mean.

I hope not... 'cause then mine's wrong too... :)

Now I need to go check the date and VIN font on the door of my '70 Charger.

Your label has much crisper letters (white/silver over black background) than the advertised car.

Not sure what difference you're seeing.. and you can't peel them or it'll say VOID underneath..

Why would there be bumps UNDER the door sticker and no marring on top of it, for such an old and decrepit car?

There is nothing wrong with the door sticker, look at the rest of the door, seen it often caused by moisture

If you are up on the current wing car market, he will get his number, and the car will get restored.

I’m not doubting that someone will eventually pay this thinking they scored and I see a lot of them for $200K asking prices but are they actually selling at that level? I would assume that the v-code 4 spd adds and if it had matching numbers anything it’ll add, but I would suspect there’s way better deals out there if one has the cash.

The ad says it has the original 440 Six Barrel engine in it. Because the car is a matching numbers 4 speed car in a good color combo it will sell and be restored. There is another B5 blue one in worse condition for sale in the area too. I believe they wanted $39,500 for that one,but it needs everything. This one looks good compared to the other one I saw listed. I have not seen it listed since I first saw the ad about six months ago. Maybe it sold.

My pal here in VT may be buying them. He has a huge collection of restored classics in several makes. He's a Super Bird nut too. He has one that's a B5 blue 4 speed.

The car would part.out for a lot ,just because you&i would n t be involved there's plenty of dirt balls who would buy&sel l the numbers off them.the cars were pretty crude when new but if you built a clone you d be sick before you were done.I stole mine 13 years ago.

Seriously? Besides the nose, fenders and plug, it’s a roadrunner. That nose, besides being an original, needs 10k in bodywork.... I’m into an all steel clone for pennies on the dollar of this dude’s asking price.

I asked my pal today if he's been buying up stuff up this way and he said no, he shops out west. The stuff up here is just rusted out crap.
