Guys and Girls,
We are down to less than 60 days till we will be making the trip to Carlisle for the show in July. For most of us, this is a trip that we look forward to and plan from one year to the next. With that said, for those who will be attending the event, whether for the first time or multiple times, the experience is what you will make it.

The Carlisle staff and support groups all do an excellent job in putting the show on. But from having attending, working and supporting these events for over 30 years now, you can always make it better. Dan and a couple others on here have been working behind the scenes in getting a tent placed on the grounds for the FBBO group.

The tent will allow members here to have a common point for the purpose of meeting up and putting a face to a name, swapping parts, stories, etc. Additionally, Carlisle is a huge area and it will give everyone an area to sit under a shade and take a break from walking. It seems to always rain for at least one of the days for a couple minutes, so it will protect some from the rain if need be.

Dan has already paid for the tent and Hawk has offered to contribute to the tent funds. I believe that we have til June 10th to register, so for those who have yet to register, then do not forget to sign up under the FBBO group. Hopefully, we can get others to contribute as well to the tent cost as well so that two guys do not end up eating the entire cost. We have the tables and chairs covered.

With that being said, and the tent behind us, what works with most of your schedules? Would you guys like to have a meet up on Friday and Saturday? What is the best time frame? Are any members wanting to chip in on having a couple of pizzas delivered for a lunch snack? Anyone looking to meet up outside the venue for the Thursday night cruise in? Possible caravan down to the drag strip after the show winds down in the afternoon.

Post your suggestions or send me a message with any thoughts or ideals to make the experience something that can be built upon for years to come and that others will want to be involved.

I will start a roll call sheet for those who want to be be listed. I will only make public here or at the show, the member's screen name. If you should want to post a cell number or email address, I will only have it on my master list that I will keep or give a copy to Dan and Hawk. That way if any members wants to make contact, then we can possibly help out in that situation. If someone is vending and want to list their spaces, I can list that. Just let me know what works the best for you. So private message with your information if you will be attending.

Looking forwards to the show and hope to see some of the guys that are here from this site.

Thanks,
Richard

I met a man and his wife yesterday they just backed into their driveway with a new Challenger.
It was like 1 hour old. They were super excited, they also have a 18 charger and a 17 Ram Truck, obviously no kids.
Anyhow they are going to register under our tent FBBO for Carlisle so add one more to the list. I'm working on a to be neighbor on Saturday/Sunday. She has a 63 Dodge 330 2 door sedan fully restored with a BB. White with red interior.
Thursday works for me, SM probably not.............too much to do at the show to take time away.

May I suggest anyone that will be coming to the tent kinda sign in here even if FBBO is not the club affiliation so we know how many people are actually coming. That way we would know how much we need to contribute to cover the tent.I would be than happy to give some cashish for the tent even if I'm only there a 1/2 hour!!:D

I will be there but my schedule is still open. My first Carlisle trip so I am sure I'll be overwhelmed.
I will put FBBO as my club affiliation.

We are now down to less than 40 days and we will all be heading to Carlisle for another year for an amazing show and memories. I know that these next five weeks is going to go by very quickly and then we will be posting about what occurred as the event will be history for another year.

With that said, some plan needs to be thought out as to what will work out for the majority of the participants. Some of you will be only there for a single day. Some may be devoted to spending time with their car or some may be locked down with a swap meet space.

All of our time is very precious, so if we can put down a definite time for any potential meet and greets, I feel that it will make the occasion more memorable. Otherwise, it is going to be a hit or miss situation. Just let me know and we can poll the attendees as to what dates and time will work best for any informal meetups. If anyone wants to establish other activities, that is awesome, but without some planning, it will never happen. The tent, tables and chairs are in place, so the basic structure is built. Just now have to get the people to attend and support the activity.

For anyone attending and who would like to be listed on our roll call, send me a message or post here your intentions of attending. If you should like to post where you will be spending most of your time or a brief description of your car, that may help to identify members. I will keep the list updated as I receive the information. For example: member name FBBO - 69 R4 Charger RT.

Currently, looking back through the pages, I see that the following members will be attending the event.

If you should have a car being featured, let us know where it will be shown. This list will be updated as information is received and can be left taped to one of the tables at the tent. I will also have the same list available at our tent as well.

So please offer your input, as the show is only as good as you make it. You can either post the question or concern directly to this post or send me a private message.

Thanks for your time and look forwards to seeing everyone in Carlisle.

72satellite - 72 Plymouth Satellite Sebring (Blue/White)
I will be in the show field with other 71-74 B-Bodies (Modified)
The spots haven't been assigned yet (approx. 2 weeks out)
Plan on spending time between being at my Car/Walking the Grounds/Visiting the FBBO Tent etc.
Plan on Friday arrival & leave sometime Saturday afternoon.

*Side Note:
I have a bunch of interior panels that are in "OK" shape, been painted white, along with a Non-Rallye Cluster I would like to make available, but don't want to get a Vendor Spot. Obviously I can't display them at my show spot but am wondering if I can bring them and keep in the trunk in case anyone is interested in purchasing. Please let me know if "Etiquette-Wise" that is not allowed or a not a good thing to do. I will post them under the Parts available section on FBBO soon, but want input on the do's/don'ts of bringing stuff to the event. Thanks in advance and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible.

Rob

Rob,
Thanks for posting the information that I can update the roll call information with. That is exactly what I was looking for.

As for as the parts being displayed with the car, I do not believe that your going to have an issue with them being stored in the trunk of the car. I know that they frown upon large "For Sale" signs plastered all over a car in the show field area, but a small clean sheet of paper is not going to get you called out. You do not want to park the car and then spread the parts out all around the vehicle, but with them neatly stacked in the trunk of your car will not be a red flag. The only concern is people trying to look at them may pose a hazard upon trying to closer examine them and may end up scratching up your car.

As you posted, I would suggest making an ad here on the site listing the parts and your availability. Then if someone has any difficulties in locating you, you can use the tent as common grounds for a meet up.

Good luck,
Richard

Thanks Richard I appreciate the feedback. I definitely didn't plan on displaying out in the open...more like you described as having them available in the trunk if folks are interested. Hope to see you there.

Rob

I plan on attending. My 65 Plymouth Belvedere II will be under the pavilion in the car corral for sale. I will definitely stop by at the FBBO tent.

Sorry, I have been traveling overseas, just got back.

ID = hsorman (Hawk Sorman). I will arrive Thursday late afternoon and will stay at least through Saturday night. I might leave Saturday night or Sunday, not sure yet. I will bring my Limelight 1970 Plymouth Road Runner - It will be displayed in the stock 70 Plymouth show field section. I'll try to connect with folks Thursday night at the tent, especially to contribute money, but unsure of the time yet.

I will start with some suggested plans at least for Friday and Saturday. This is just to throw something out there and see what sticks; I'm happy to change the plans based on suggestions.
Friday:
  • 9:00 to 9:30AM: I will be at the tent to say hi to members. If any members want to tag along as I walk the parts areas, you are welcome to join me.
  • 12:00 to 1:00PM: I will be at the tent for an informal lunch meet up. I will plan to get my food on the grounds and then be at the tent at noon.
  • 6:00: Meet at the tent to discuss any interest in dinner plans?

Saturday:
  • 9:00 to 9:30AM: I will be at the tent to say hi to members. If any members want to tag along as I walk the car display areas, you are welcome to join me.
  • 12:00 to 1:00PM: I will be at the tent for an informal lunch meet up. I will plan to get my food on the grounds and then be at the tent at noon.
Looking forward to it!

Carlisle is promoting a special gate and go package of $58.50 for the weekend pass for two people and the vehicle. If you figure that your attending the event and park outside the gate, you will spend $50.00 for the weekend pass for two people. Factor in parking for a minimum of two days will cost you $5.00 to $10.00 per day, so your at a minimum of $60.00 to walk into the grounds as a spectator parking outside of the grounds for Friday and Saturday. That does not even include Sunday if you decide to come back for that morning.

That is the reason that you so many people are now registering for the swap meet spaces. For $90.00, your able to come and go throughout the week and depending upon where your spaces are, you are right there if that means going back to the space to fix a sandwich, get something to drink, drop off parts, charge the phone etc.

For the people who are attending looking for parts, consider purchasing an early bird ticket for Thursday. We are seeing more and more people coming in on Thursday and getting what they need so that they are not dealing with the crowd on Friday. There is also the serious hunters of that NOS or nice used part that come in and are able to check things out before the actual Friday spectators come in.

Unlike some other events, the Carlisle staff does an excellent job of getting people in and out of the property. By preregistering, your able to get the necessary tickets and window sticker prior to the event so that your able to drive up to the gate and they motion you through with no hassles. Other venues should sit back and just observe the process to improve their events.

Look forward to seeing everyone, we are only some 70 days out before we will be heading to the show!!!

Is the early-bird Ticket for Thursday part of the registration, or have to buy at the gate?
Bryan

If you pre-register, You're good for the Whole Week...

The recognized dates for the event are Friday through Sunday, July 12th through the 14th. So if your registering for the general show field or general admission, those will be the dates that your allowed to enter the grounds with no additional cost. If you should be be registering as a vendor, your allowed to come in earlier in the week to set up at no extra charge. There is a $12 admission price for Thursday to come in and view the venue.

If you should go the Carlisle home page for the Chrysler show and click on the "Show Details", the various prices are listed. https://carlisleevents.com/events/events-detail/index?id=chrysler+nationals

I have no ideal on how tight they are on policing the gates if you show that your registered, but there is a a very good turn out on Thursday.

I just saw over on Moparts that someone posted that the Days Inn South in Carlisle has changed ownership. So if you should have reservations for this location for the show weekend, I would strongly suggest calling the location directly to verify your reservation. The person who posted stated that they were not honoring previously made reservations, so you do not want to show up and discover that you do not have a location to stay for the weekend.

I have a few race passes for South Mountain Raceway. If you are definitely going,PM me!

First come 1st to get,limited supply:bananaweed:
