Leaky 727

Thanks for the info. I didn't know there is a vent. Could the pressure be getting to high and that's why it's leaking out?

I'm not sure why some transmissions puke trans fluid and others don't. Some claim it is from over filling the trans? It is more of a problem with a trans brake because the drum has a vent hole. On other transmissions, maybe there is too much clearance or leakage past the sealing rings? Maybe one of the transmission experts will comment on that?
 
My 727 leaking drove me crazy. I thought it was from the pan but it turned out to be the dipstick tube.
AAA trans sells the tube and O ring. My tube was slightly bent were it enters the pan. They also had another dipstick tube different from the OEM.
It came with a seal which had a shoulder that went against the case.
I followed Moparnation's excellent advise. The trans fluid was down in the pan and I used sealant around the seal and let it sit for a day or so before refilling. No more leaks!!!
