Different Car since move out West, dies after 20 miles or so...

Thanks again everyone. I have not changed anything yet, but I fired it up today, let it get to 180 or so, and watched the bubbling gas in the glass fuel filter. Feeling better that it's fuel vs. something else.
I also found a really interesting report about Vapor Lock and fixes by a West Coast GM Group. Really interesting read!

I read the report above and found it quite helpful and interesting. Basically how we addressed the issue on the X. Wish I would have seen this before or during troubles. Good luck with your fix - hope it’s easily resolved.

Glass fuel filter? Is it the type that unscrews? If so, give it the boot. They have a habit of unscrewing at the wrong time and you may end up with the hottest mopar in your area, aka "car b que".

I like how you put that aluminum shield above the valley pan and I under the carb. Is that bolted in or just sitting in there loose like?

Reroute fuel line insulate fuel line, heat shield, thermo spacer, and put insulation on bottom of air cleaner with aluminum shells. Here are some pics of what I did . Works very well.

The heat shield is mounted on the carb studs, gasket ,heat shield, gasket, 3/4 phenolic spacer, gasket, then carb. Insulate fuel line away from motor. Insulate bottom of air cleaner base with aluminum self stick insulation. Lowered incoming air by 30-40 degrees with thermal laser gun.
