So the guy I got my car from (65 Satellite) broke the windshield, which is super clean and clear. He was fixing a leak and cracked it up near the top. I want to replace it but a buddy said new repop windows suck. He said they don’t fit right, the cut is bad and they are hazy. I saw AMD offers them and they usually only offer quality items. Should I get one or try and find a used original.

I went with ECS Automotive for the side glass and Pilkington glass for the windshield and rear glass for my '68 Charger. All pieces fit well.

Repo parts are hit and miss, you may get a good one or you may not. My 65 has a replacement repo (not sure of the brand) and it has a minor flaw but is on the passenger side and only noticeable at a angle.Kinda like a "wave effect". I have seen plenty this way in several cars. You may want to contact a local auto glass installer (Safelite got me one for my 67 Dart) so it can be inspected before they install it. My 2 cents.

The AMD piece I bought for my coronet kinda sucks. It looks good but has major gaps in lower corners. Took a whole tub of silicone to fill them in.

AMD are just as thick as the originals.
On my side glass AMD was actually .010 -. 020 thicker. Haven't gotten to front & rear glass yet. But they were slightly smaller than the ones I took out. I was able to get everything so far to seal up.

I have an OEM in Central New Jersey, removed from a parts car.
$100.00 pick up only PM me if you are interested

Just a little vent.
Yeah, on my 64 Ply, I'd like to replace the windshield. It's the original, like the rest of the glass on the car, all pulled and put back on during the build. New rubber, of course.
Besides a wiper arm scrape, the windshield is de-laminating, has a slight haze in it.
Talked to the nearest Safelite outfit, and was told I would need to go to a 'classic' car glass dealer.

Looked up classic car glass outfits, in North Texas, one Safelite dealer listed. If one can, why the hell not the rest? Anyway, still on the hunt.
Would rather find one, and have it installed, instead of having to mess with it. Don't really want to have to drive to Dallas.

Miller, Sounds like they just didn't want to be bothered.

Yeah, Darter6, think your right.

Might have a lead on one, OEM?, through Extreme auto glass in Plano. (Part of the Gas Monkey bs, around here.) Will include installation, and them coming to me.
Gonna check with my insurance, since I've got comprehensive on the car, it would be $50 deductible to me.
Extreme (spelt different) says one in 150 mile range.

Should have never put the windshield back in. But, with all the $$$s going out, you know the story. Maybe I'll catch a break!

Awesome Ed I’ll see you there, my buddy knows you and where your spot normally is

I will take the windshield off the shelf this week and look it over.
Been sitting up there for 5 years now.

Who is your buddy?
