Rat rod. Rat rod. Rat rod.

Rolling coal...man I hate that crap but it finally died here and the ones with fast diesel trucks learned how to tune for power and not being a gross polluter!Depends where you are.
Around here the trend is diesel trucks. How much "coal can you roll!".
Build the tranny chip the truck and turn the boost way way up. Pointless considering none of the trucks will ever pull so much as a lawnmower.
My first Dakota was a 90 extended cab bought for a business then a 92 V8 swb reg cab w/3.90 gears bought for fun. Got my dad's first Dakota when he started talking about trading it in. It was an 87 V6 and ran pretty good. Now I have his 95 since he passed in 98 but it's not doing real well with the electrical system. It was kept outside most of the time.Dam I miss my D50. My first rig was a 1981 2wd D50, then I bought an 80 D50 4WD. I would love to find another!
Man, can even find a V8 Dakota around here in decent shape anymoreI do love small trucks.
I have 3 Daily Driver Dakotas with V-8s. All very fun to mess around in. And several parts trucks.
I want to take one of the 2WD parts trucks and put a Dana/TF w a stroked small block.
And a Challenger door can make a nasty door ding!I'm starting the "Walmart beater" trend where the $50 dollar Subaru owners are actually afraid of door dings from MY car.....

Yellow is probably the safest color but ya never see them much.....White, silver, black, & gray vehicles. These are "safe" colors so that they can more easily sell the lease return vehicles.
Or are getting divorce in their 'golden' years. Heck, my wife leaving me took the gold but made the lead shiny! Also, the cars you mentioned are not my favorite either....Lefty pretty well hits the nail JMHO, I have watched the fat fender street rods go from top of the heap down to { please buy my car }
The guys that were building rods in the 50s/60s have or are aged out, many leaving car collections for their wife or kids to deal with.
Now here we sit, grew up in the 60s and 70s, muscle cars are our thing or well most of us anyhow. We are having our run now but there is a end and that's ok its just the way things go.
If a guy has any cash burning a hole in the pocket, start grabbing 80s Irocs , 5.0 stangs, 80s malibus and the like, Not my favorites for sure but they will be the next big wave in the old car market. The guys that grew up with those are just now getting the kids out of college and the house paid off.
I hope not. Got sick of going to decent sized car shows/swap meets where there were those people dressed up like that and playing the music. It was a good time but got sick of the act and hearing the same songs all the time.I was in LA this past weekend picking up a Hemi fora buddy of mine. The fella I met up with was telling me of a new trend hitting SoCal. Guys, 25-35 yuppie types with high end jobs are buying old school 40-50 hot rods and dressing the part by wearing the attire popular back in the day. Slicked back hair, white T shirts, cuffed jeans, tats etc. Pretty much what my dad did when he came back from WWII. A lot of them really get into the roll play.
Won’t be long before that trend reaches other area of the country.
Ain't this kinda like the weekend 'bikers' wearing all sorts of leather and conchos then back to the suit and Allen Edmonds for work on Monday...Rolling coal...man I hate that crap but it finally died here and the ones with fast diesel trucks learned how to tune for power and not being a gross polluter!

Where’s my noose... ok, maybe just ear plugs, lol.50's Retro,Rock-a-Billy is big time popular in Vegas. The Orleans hosts a week long event every year for the last 23. Hot Rods and Hot Music. Plenty of You Tube videos from there.
I see a huge mix with the bikers. Usually the suit guys don't have long hair and beards....but my CPA had long hair up until recently lol.Ain't this kinda like the weekend 'bikers' wearing all sorts of leather and conchos then back to the suit and Allen Edmonds for work on Monday...
True - I wouldn't want to make the mistake of asking a hard core biker if he's a CPA, doctor or lawyer...lolI see a huge mix with the bikers. Usually the suit guys don't have long hair and beards....but my CPA had long hair up until recently lol.
For drag racing, a modoor has a bit more weight on the rear tires or the weight bias is better. The down side is....there's more weight. My old saying is "A 4 door car can do anything a 2 door can.Sometimes better."
I did & it's the post right above yoursNobody has even mentioned a Demon. This is a Mopar site damit!!
