'71 Charger mystery flasher/relay

I've been going through the dash wiring harness double checking some work I paid a shop way too much to get wrong and trying to make sure wires are properly hooked up. I found this seemingly extra flasher or relay that's wired to the battery feed and to the L31A circuit (dark blue/yellow) in the concealed headlamp wiring. There is no plug with yellow, yellow, pink, and yellow w/tracer wires on the instrument panel wiring diagram in the service manual. However, on the instrument panel accessory wiring page there is such a plug in the time delay and low fuel relay wiring. My car does not have this accessory, so I'm pretty sure I can just remove this thing and be done with it. How it's half-assed wired in there with the J5A circuit yellow wire tied to the L31A circuit and the X1A circuit pink wire connected to the battery feed with the J5 yellow and the M6B yellow w/tracer just hanging, I have no idea what the "hot rod" shop thought is was going to do. So, for my own piece of mind, can someone confirm that this is indeed a time delay relay that I don't need and can ditch?

Yes, the time delay relay and it’s small harness can be removed.The car likely has an ignition switch light in the steering column, near the hazard light switch, the time delay relay accessory controlled. Removing it will disable this ignition switch light.

I'm going to have to go through the wiring diagram again. I would like to have a delay on the ignition light. However, as it is now, it's all screwed up.

On 71 also feeds the seatbelt light

And those little relays aren't cheap....ask me how I know. My 2-cents.....keep it, figure out the wiring from help on this site & make it work. I'm planning to tackle the same job this summer.

I found that plug with the M6 and M6A circuits on the Instrument Panel Wiring diagram labeled as "time delay ground." So, I need to find it in the car and plug my M6B lead into that. My pink lead (X1A) is already plugged into battery power. So, it looks like I need to go out and find the lead coming from the ignition switch lamp and connect my yellow J5A plug to that. Who knows why it's plugged into the concealed headlamp circuit. Since I don't have the low fuel relay, I can just tape off the J5 lead and just use three of the four leads.

I figured since I was going to be overseas for several years, I'd be better off paying someone to do this for me. Oh well. Live and learn. Part of me would like to know how many labor hours I paid to have this done wrong and part of me is happier not knowing.
