I had already done my repair before seeing the DVW method.I used rubber fuel line with hose clamps on the bottom where they enter the trans,yes I did both.

I use method #2 for cable adjustment, useing a amp meter (2/3rds down the page) Cut a lenth of 1/2 plastic pipe or lenth of wood to hold the button in reverse (longest throw to answer your question) and wedge it against the seat. Pad the end so you don't put a hole in your seat. Read these instructions a couple of times to get familiar. The console shift instructions are in the beginning. Don't get it mixed up with the push button instructions.
