Asbestos brake shoes really better, they sure look to be

Doing brake work recently, thought i would change the older brake shoes for more modern friction materials. Ordered from rock auto raybestos professional series shoes. Made in china what a disappointment. Didn't take pictures but they looked like half circular steps in the material. Layered like how you decorate a cake with frosting. Found some old nos mopar front shoes marked bendix ff side code the old bendix shoes luckily i kept are marked ee on side code. From what i understand the asbestos type shoes did perform better virtually all around, but we all know the story about that.
 
Lol, the “real story” is anything bad for your health was usually better, back when! Better heat dissipation, withstanding heat.
 
Amen, new stuff for old cars is mostly inferior imo. Still waiting to be surprised though. Was also reading on asbestos in brake formulas, seems the type of asbestos used was the least dangerous, but exposure levels could be higher in service shops with air guns blowing the debris around. Article i read also stated smoking cigarettes and those exposure levels to asbestos really kicked it up a notch.

Exactly right, did all the above.
 
N.O.S.++ Asbestos ++ is 50 times better than this new garbage that they are forced to sell because of Asbestos laws and rules and regulations.....
N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ is as smooooooth as a babies' bottom; no ripping up a brake drum.....
The new garbage is like 10 grit sandpaper -- and to stop, it has to grip and grab and rip and shred.....
I have them side by side on my counters at the shows , such that you can feel for yourself, become an expert in 1 1/2 seconds, and GO for the GOLD........

It is legal transact on N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ with all the Asbestos laws, rules, and regulations.... Because
It is "grandfathered" in....
It is just illegal to -- manufacture -- Asbestos --
And, that is why everyone must sell the garbage.....
 
Gooooooood luck with that --- talk & write to the EPA
about that -- you should have your answer 20 years after we are all dead -- and the answer will be NO.
A four letter word is supposed to be a dirty word -- but I believe the 3 - letter words are worse:
IRS , EPA , FBI, CIA , etc. etc......
