I think you fellas have it about all covered in the physical ailment department (I'm right with you with destroyed discs
causing pinched nerves causing arm & leg FIRE). I don't think it's necessarily an age thing with my particular
experiences with flatlining and cancer 4x and all that, though - those apparently happen to all ages, sadly.
I'm just missing a few parts and some others have been "remapped".
I still have the pressure cooker job of having to fetch the work, line up the help, etc. that comes with the territory
and it's actually
easier on me (and probably better for me physically) to then just go do the actual work myself, even
though the owners try to stop that every chance they get, too (they think that helps me...).
Bottom line is the younger help are like herding cats and I wind up going out behind them and mopping up their
messes anyways.
All that aside, and the heck with the 1am-3am wake-ups every morning (haven't needed an alarm clock in years),
bottom line is I've just gotten up one more time than I fell down.
Yes, I get a kick out of peoples' reactions, too. Example:
Recent fire pump testing I arranged with a rep from the manufacturer for a customer, I surprise-attended as well.
Owner of the facility/customer looked shocked to see me and said "hey, you showed up!"
His main facilities guy, who has known me for decades, says "Ed ALWAYS shows up."
Owner looks at me and I'm like:
