Big Block Cylinder Head Selection

The stock 516's that came with the vehicle, drilled out for the 1.74 exhaust valves. Pocket ported and polished chambers.

That is the advertised flow, right? Any independent flow results?
Those seem to only be about $30 less than the Trick Flow 240s (comparing solid roller spring packages.)
The trick flows seem to flow a bit more (comparing advertised numbers), with smaller less valve lift?

Yes, the numbers are what Promaxx claims on their product. I looked nothing into the trickflow stuff to know what they claim on their heads

What do you want to do.....sorry if this question has already been asked....but, heads can play a big part in the way your car acts if it's just for cruising or racing etc.

Good question if money is a factor in your heads purchase. I wanted to buy some aluminum heads and found if I just spent a few hundred more at that time I bought them, then the heads were never going to need upgraded if I had planned to build up the engine in the future.
The ported heads cruise just fine on Saturday night and if someone wants to argue about being short on torque then give me about a 1/10th of a second and these free're flowing heads/cam will rev right into their sweet spot and you won't miss your low end torque. Trick Flow, Promaxx or whatever, I would put your money into the heads while you can if you have to buy some. Just sounds easier to me to upgrade a camshaft then the heads at a later date.

It's been long known that stock Mopar heads have a sorry finish to the valve pockets or undercut and just doing a pocket job (get your mind out of the gutter....it's an old school term :D ) alone will make them wake up a pretty good bit.....something that usually will make a difference in a 1/4 mile ET and/or even butt feel. Next imo, is to port match. Stock heads already have a decent size port and if you're running a stock valve size and are just looking for better performance, I generally won't even bother with porting them.
