64 Ply Sport Fury fuel/temp gauge...power on...temp gauge completely bottomed out to the left, fuel gauge moves completely to the right, to the stop, past the full mark.

Sign of a bad voltage reducer?

Yes, Most of the time it fries the gauge when that goes out.

Yep more than likely. My electronic replacement didn't help. The temp gauge is done and the fuel gauge is a bit erratic.

My electronic replacement didn't help.
You mean like the one I just ordered from RTE, 5 minutes ago?
The new one I have on the panel, probably China crap. Hell's bells. Well, gonna have to pull the panel, and dig out a spare gauge.
Cuttin' down on my tearing the street up time...now that it finally stopped raining!

Thanks, guys!

Mine came from national moparts up here so I don't know who their supplier is. It happened after I upgraded the alternator to a powermaster unit. The voltage was climbing too high, so I replaced the regulator. Tends to maintain better now at 14.5V but the fuel gauge either reads or it stays at empty...annoying! We had very few sunny days here too. Also annoying! I cut the grass about 3 times last summer and probably 4 times already this year in between the rain.

This is the one...

Gremlins in the shop! NOT funny how it all happened.
Rainy day, checked distributor dwell, minor adjustment on the points. Didn't want to start the car, to check timing, with door closed. Next day, door open, fired it off, wanting it to warm up enough to idle. Running like crap! Knew the condenser went south, while feathering the gas, keeping it going. And, as I sat there, watched, as those gauges went south, too. WTF.

I hear ya, on the rain, and grass. I'll have to cut my acre again, this weekend.

Sooo...fried gauges...repairable??

Bummed out big time. Er, nope, wait around 6 weeks???

Welp! Both spare gauges no go. One also cooked, other probably works, but looks like crap.
A FYI, that new voltage reducer I had, came from Napa.

Fun and games.
