I have a 1967 Coronet and it has light pinhole rust in the lower quarters behind the wheel arches. I'm also going to replace the trunk extensions behind them and I'm wondering if anyone on here has done the job and can rate the quality of the parts they used. There are a few manufacturer's of these out there and the prices vary. I've done prior metal replacement on other cars and found out the hard way that brand name doesn't always mean good fitment. Some manufacturer's sell some great parts but also sell total garbage. I'm wanting the repair to look stock. Quality is priority over price. My plan is to only replace the lower three inches so there won't be a visible seam in the trunk. Any advice from someone with experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There are a few AMD lower patches out there, but no one that I know of that makes a trunk extension that is anywhere close to correct. I have personally bought 2 sets of trunk extensions from 2 different places and both were scrap metal in my opinion.

Currently doing this car. Two parts cars were cut up in the process. Rear AMD lower rear patches and parts car trunk extensions and wheel arches. Right side is 5 pieces and left side is 3 pieces. Also torsion bar cross member, full floor pans, and rear foot well on one side. I have more money into it now than it will be worth when done. The lower 3" you want to replace will be the same between the Belvedere and the Coronet. Save your trunk extensions at all costs, if it is possible.

If it's "pin holes" you're chasing, you might be better off finding a good welder, rather than open that can of worms...especially if you're going to do the trunk extensions.

I've done business with Layson"s ( you can find then on this site). The finish panels were awesome...trunk extensions looked a bit rough, but I'm not sure that those would have looked any better from the factory. Great guys to deal with, they know there stuff and it seems like they always have the same people.

My two cents

I believe all 66-67 coronet patch panels and trunk extensions are all the same no matter who sells them. They are not very good. You might be better off making your own if it is just a small piece that you need.

P.S. The plymouth lower quarters are different from dodge at the very back. I don't know about the rest of them.

I just did the exploratory surgery to see how bad it really was. The passenger side extension is perfect. The driver's side could be reworked but I have a parts car that has a good driver side extension so that won't be a problem. I will order up AMD lower quarters and if they aren't acceptable I will fabricate my own. Thanks for saving me the time and disappointed of buying the junk extensions. If it isn't right it's wrong period. It's sad that people can get away with selling garbage for the 66-67 cars because they know we have no other choice.

I purchased the quarter skins from C2C "Classic to Current" the body lines were way off and I complained to them. They went through the whole process of "sending info to the fabricators" line of bs. They ended up telling me to keep them and refunded me my money.

AMD makes 66/67 Coronet patches now??????

No, they have made them in the past. There are still a few floating around. You will not get them from AMD.

Couple of quick pics of trunk extensions and quarter panels. Panels are Larson. They worked for me but only needed six inches at the bottom. Sure a good bodyman could have made them, but thought would give a try. Equally happy with the trunk extensions. Body shop removed the bits and pieces from old panels. Everything lined up perfectly.

Bought both wheel well panels trunk extensions and rear lower quarter panel on my 67 from C2C and though they were not perfect fits I was able to make them work where I'm happy with it. Didn't have to pile on filler either.
