Ok I have miss matched doors and fenders. The main body was built at Lynch rd and the donor car was built at the St Louis plant. The belt line molding from the Lynch Rd portion of the car is off with the St Louis doors and fenders. Not a big deal just something to note from 2 different plants. The tape is over the rear quarter lines. Pulling the tape straight shows how different they were. The question is how the hell did they line up the molding on the St Louis car if it was that far off from the rear?

I will not even try to guess at this one :BangHead:

They didn't use two different types of trim, one requiring a different hole location?

If not, looks like you have some holes to weld up. Now which ones?

As far as I know, in 66, the Belvedere II had the center trim (all II's had the same) and the Belvedere I had the lower belt line trim and Satellites had their own too along the top edge of the body.

My 66 Satellite passenger side door trim doesn't line up with front fender trim OR quarter trim. Holes are in wrong spot, door has never been off the car. A St. Louis build, friend has the same issue not sure where his car was build. The passenger door has at least 1/2" gap on door bottom, top of door is lined up "ok" not the trim.

I've seen a lot of cars with a large gap at the bottom of the doors. It's pretty common actually. My first car was a 66 Belvedere II and it was done pretty good. It was bought new by the family and I got it in 69. Everything closed good on it and the trim lined up very well. It was a demo though so I'm sure it got some messaging at the dealership....

I had both sets of chrome and they were exactly the same beltline molding. Circle around the gas cap with the spear head at the fender. I ended up selling the chrome from the other car locally. But they were the same. So I'm not sure why they are different but the door lines up well and the gaps are good front, back and bottom. Both cars are Belvederes neither is a Satellite. Passenger side is the same way. The driver fender is a 67 so it has holes in a different place all together. I have to just make my own holes I guess and plug weld the old holes. Keep the line from the rear portion of the body and make new holes..

Years ago I bought a piece of trim for a 70 Challenger rag top. It was the trim used for an SE iirc. It was the single piece that had the quarter panel end pieces included and was argent finish that went across the tail and included the trunk lock access hole. Well, it was 1/4" too wide for the rag top but it fit my other Challenger perfectly. Neither car had been wrecked that I could tell and I'm usually pretty good about spotting previous damage. This isn't the first time where things were not as they were supposed to be.....

This is what this car should have looked like back in the day. By the way this car was on my local craigslist for 22k
