And Lord only knows what timing cover and balancer is on the engine. (unless it's a un-restored original) You just know what combination of parts it may have.
Timing is determined by the mechanical advance, in the distributor. Initial (at idle), to full advance. The 34 you mention is the recommended full advance, for a BB Mopar engine.
Example is mine...mechanical advance is 20 degrees, minus full, equals 14 degree initial. My engine is mostly stock 440.
