Im making very slow progress on my G3 hemi swap. But at least its progress. i have ran into a couple issues. First, i have to say, I am not a mechanic by any means, i build homes. I need things spelled out for me. This is my first project car.
Here is what i have:
68 coronet
2004 5.7 hemi from a durango
tti headers
tti motor mounts
A-518 46rh
I put the engine in last night and noticed that the throttle body is sticking up too high.
Now I bought a 2005 throttle body from Modern Muscle because they told me that is the one i needed as I will be using a 2005 computer and harness for Hotwire Auto.

I sent the picture to my uncle and he said i need a different throttle body (one that has linkage for the kick down) like this one https://www.jegs.com/i/BBK+Performa...KMDP_0TmGbIkj0lPs5BoCzM4QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
But they all look like they are that tall.

Does anyone have any recommendations. or any help would be appreciated on what i need to make the transmission work with the kickdown and a throttle body that fits under the hood.
thank you

well......I talked with Chris at Hotwire Auto. Awesome guy! i think he set me straight with the transmission controller and kick down. Chris also said that I have the correct throttle body

The only issue I have right now is that the throttle body is to tall.
Has anyone else run into this issue?

May need to go to the aftermarket tubular K frame or get crafty with the motor mounts to get that Hemi down in the engine bay...IMO

I’m gonna tell ya what to do, but you won’t like it. Pull that damn truck intake off and set it on fire, or the shelf. Now get ya a car intake, put it on, no bolts.
Notice where the TB is going to come out, the timing cover will need to be cut down. Space the alternator outward and the ac compressor. If ya don’t want to do that, get a car timing cover, alternator and ac compressor and power steering pump, straight bolt on to your engine.

Mind is tight with a air grabber hood - had to use a thin air cleaner and the bracket for the air grabber door touches the air cleaner. Your car looks really nice and I think a six pack
hood would set it off.

I test fit the hood yesterday and I have maybe 1/4" between the throttle body and the hood.
the tranny is not hooked up yet so it could change the angle slightly and I could gain a little or loose that 1/4" lol

My 2005 Chrysler 300 5.7 hemi sits perfect under the hood of my 65 coronet. It has truck exhaust manifold for clearance and uses the stock engine cover.
