C-body Tie Rod Ends on a B-body?

I'm getting ready to replace my tie rod ends, idler arm & pitman arm. I think I saw someplace that you can use C-body tie rod ends with C-body tie rod "sleeves". Is that right? Is there any advantage to doing this? Are there any C-body tie rod "sleeves" that are the right length for a '70 Roadrunner? What do all you guys think about this? THANK YOU
 
Seems like I've read that before. The C body sleeves are bigger/stronger so they have less flex for corner/road burning.....
 
THe sleeves are LONGER. I just parted out a 1970 Polara and held a Charger tie rod assembly next to the Polara version. You'd need to cut the sleeve down to match the length of the B body part. I suspect you'd need to cut an equal amount off of each end to avoid trouble since the ends are threaded differently. one is LH thread, the other is RH. Aftermarket 11/16" B body sleeves are available new but if you have some used C body sleeves, you can save a few bucks.
 
There are some C body sleeves that are the right length. I have them on my car. I can't remember the year, but 1977 ish rings a bell. Do a bit of research. It is a good swap especialy if you are changing them anyway.
 
I put C-body TRE's on my 70 `cuda. PST billet sleeves.

Yep, people have been using the C body tie rod ends for at least 40 years on these cars. Goes all the way back to the Kit Car days and maybe even before that.
 
You might also want to consider a needle roller bushing for the idler arm. Don't know the part number, but the original rubber bushings have a lot of movement when driving.
