What color spring is the Melling M63HP pump supposed to have? Thanks.

Isn't the natural metal spring considered black as opposed to painted red?

I just had an HV apart, but didn't think to scrape to see if it was paint. Sure looked black though.

I'm not sure if the red spring/black spring is till a thing. I have three or four M63HPs at home. I can check, but not sure when I'll be back home. I recall them to be natural as well. You didn't ask, but FWIW, it runs about 70 psi.

all the stock or aftermarket high pressure springs I have or seen were either plain or black. stock standard was always red. newer aftermarket stock pressure pumps may have red or pink. anymore I just measure the wire diameter of the spring. not as straight forward as it used to be.
