Hi All,

With the many posts about the 727TF’s shattering when driven the wrong way, I’m wondering whether it is at all possible to use or set up a 727TF for street sprints/track days at all?

While I’m trying to keep costs down should I be looking for something like aTH700 or later GM to go behind the LA?

The car is a 64’Dodge phoenix 408/727/3.9 9”

Thanks in advance!

Graeme.

Pro~Trans built my 727 and I beat the **** out of it @ the track 800+Horse power

I've ran many a stock 727 to low 12s, hi stall, manual shift. 100s of runs. Just DON'T do your burnouts in 1st gear. Use 2nd or 3rd.

Just to clarify I'm talking about circuit racing, time attack etc and not the 1/4 mile though there will be plenty of that too....

I don't see a problem with it. The 727 is a strong transmission. Maybe just add a special transmission pan that will make sure you keep the transmission fluid flowing in the corners & add a large external transmission cooler
