Got it done tonight. My first win! Although the car has been a challenge recently, Ive felt it coming together behind the wheel. It took 6 wins, and it was a somewhat big event: Pacific Raceways Summer Nitro Challenge, a nostalgia event. I’ll post up the time slips as soon as I can gather myself. For now: beers!!

The first race win leads to more. Once you have the feeling of going 6 or 7 rounds it gets easier to repeat. Also the other guys notice who wins & give you an advantage. The guys that know, see who wins & try to stay away as long as they can. Congrats on a big step.

Congratulations.
Any time you go 6 rounds is a great accomplishment.
Ride the wave!

Very nice. The start of a long list I'm sure.

cant Really see these clearly, but the reaction times were right where I like them, consistently between .020 & .050 with two exceptions: in the 4th round I raced a good buddy and was aware that I might be a little extra keyed up. I may have ended up over-compensating, as that round I was .071. He bailed me out by NOT overcompensating, and went red. The final round I may have had a little extra adrenaline flowing and went .007, a little closer than I’d prefer, but I ain’t complaining. As for the car, it was on a string. Was easily predictable, varying only .027 and right on schedule in 4 runs during the warmth of day, then predictably picking up by .035 when the sun went down and the air cooled. 60’ times varied by only .008 all day. In the final I had a low 9-second, 145+ mph missile in the other lane. My data suggested the car would go .23, so I dialed it at .22 so I could confidently run it out the back door if needed with the big MPH gap. Incrementals suggest it would have gone the aforementioned .23 which would have given me an .020 or less pack. As it was, I had plenty of room and scrubbed .06 and 6 mph, still taking .10 stripe.

Man was it a fun day! I already can’t wait to get after it again!

Great job LW. It’s always fun when you’re winning. And feels good fighting though adversity like you did.
Keep that MOPAR ahead of the pack!!!
