Was a rather somber drive today while remembering lives given in service to our country.

Monday went on a nice little cruise to Keosauqua and through Lake Wapello Park on the way back home. Stopped and let the kids play, had a great time.

I drove from Kennesaw GA to Main Street in Cartersville, GA. Beautiful, sunny ride with the top DOWN !!

Went out today and went to a place called Lone Elk park. Back in the fifties it was a munitions storage and target practice area for the government. It runs along the highway for about six miles. Today it's a wild life refuge full of buffalo, elk and deer. You have to stay in your car!!

After that we went down to old town on the river to check on the water level, it's went down some, you can now drive on the river road at the river front park.

I live on top by the line of trees overlooking the bottom land. This road is the back way that got flooded when the levee broke.

Picked up the front rotors for my Superbird, after having them turned for the first time in their 50 years.

Body shop. Campbell, California. Front valance, right rear quarter respray. Rust bubbles on driver door. Tired of looking at them. Install new tail stripe. Quoted 1300, highly recommended, and able to match faded, patched, and otherwise nefarious assemblage of existing paint. We will see. Will report back. Supposed to have car by 7/3.

Got on the highway, A/C, cruise control set at 65 mph, music from phone running through car stereo and drove almost a hundred miles. Just driving and looking at nothing in particular, just me and the road!! I must have got at least a few dozen thumbs up and a cop SUV came up on me from two lanes over, got behind me, then pulled up along side of me. Two cops inside started waving and gave me the thumbs up. I waved, dropped the hammer, jumped forward about 10 cars and let up. They came back up laughing with more thumbs up!! That was way to cool!! I thought who cares, I'm old.......

Reporting back from post #132. Early report is a good paint match and repair.

NICE Dennis! I may need to visit your people & have my blotches dissappeared.
That's very reasonable for the work done in our part of the country, I think.

We drove 'around' getting used to new sounds & smells & sensations of engine transplant that finally happened recently.

Don't have accurate range figured out due to 'spirited' driving but worth every penny.
Poor tires...

Went on a parts run, for the Bird, on a beautiful 30C/86F day. 5 stops, 5 perfect hot starts, no coolant pukes, temperature still running right on the 195 Stat. Took me an hour to get off the NAPA parking lot and an hour + at the beer store, but I made it back without issue to roughen up those wheel wells a bit more on the home stretch!

Changed oil/filter & added 1/2" wood carb spacer then diddled with linkage. The spacer made a huge difference in carb temp. It feels about 50* cooler with my fingermeter.
I hadn't had any hot start or vapor lock issues but I know it was getting close...

Oops! I thought this was what did you DO to your car today. Too tired, can't think, best not post in my condition.
