Were there any 383 ,3 speed on the column cars built ?

Sam,I'm not a numbers guy, but when it comes to things Ma Mopar did back then I would have to say yes. I believe I saw a ex-cop car for sale of that year and the E bay ad stated it was a 383 3 speed on the tree.

Don’t know about Coronet ‘s but I saw a 383 3 on the tree 64 Sport Fury convertible for sale at MATS a few years ago. It had a console with out any holes for the shifter.

Code book shows code #361 3 spd manual , column shift.

Also code #362 3 spd H.D. column shift

No engine combos listed with the codes. Seems like I had just read about one also.

Thanks for the replies, I think I will go check it out.

And remember allot of the 361 cubic inch B engines for years have been mistaken for 383 cubic inches.

externally, what is the difference......guy in a local wrecking yard said he had about 8 440 engines......in truth, he had none.....

That would be a very rare combo.......All Sport Furys were auto or 4 speeds on the floor.
I would need to see that one, sounds made up.

My brother bought a 1964 Valiant 2dr post 273 3 speed manual from a friend and he replaced that with a 1962 Dodge 2dr post car that was a 361 3 speed manual. I believe that there were more than a few Max Wedge cars with 3 speed manual as well.
