6bbl set up

Yeah so like dadeo said, either somebody removed it or changed the main body of the carb. Pretty sure they will not run properly like that.
Maybe take it off and see if you can see if someone removed the port or what's going on. Likely your best bet is to find a center carb needing rebuilt, maybe from this site or do a ebay search and take all the parts of the 2 to make one good one. Chicago carburetor sells the rebuld kit for it

Here are some more pics with the vacuum lines removed for a better view...

Almost looks like someone removed and plugged it but hard to see in your pic. Maybe disconnect that vacuum line and move it out of the way and take another close up.View attachment 592502

There is what appears to be a small set-screw in the bottom of the metering body. You can see it in the diagram posted a few posts ago from the manual.

If I were to look for a replacement center carb....is there a model number I should look for? This is not a numbers matching car, so I don't need a correct, numbers matching carb, just one that works properly and looks the part.

4670 Looks like the right carb. Is that correct

the most common one available and the only one available now new is 4144

You’re getting bad info from some posters. The stock center on a six pack is the small 350 carb.

Here's the bottom of a re-pop 4670.................

Thanks all. I just ordered an new 4144 from Jegs. One thing I will need to work out is the new carb has the vent tube coming out of the top of the carb that my existing carb does not have and where that will need to go (can i just plug it?). Right now, the passenger side valve cover only has the PCV valve coming out of it.

just leave it vented to air, no problem.

Yesterday my new center carb arrived and I spent this morning installing it. At first I was a little intimidated diving into removing, replacing, and tuning the 6bbl set up. I spent a bunch of time reading and studying the tuning info I was able to find on this site. The removal and replacement went as smooth as I could have expected. I ran into a small snag with a fuel leak on the rear carb, but quickly figured it out and fixed it. Another 30 minutes with a vacuum gauge and a screw driver and she was purring like a kitten. A test drive found gobs of newfound power! It is clearly obvious now that my previous set up was wrong. With the proper set up and tuning, the car has waaaay more power and smokes the tires with ease. A huge thank you to those members who chimed in and helped. To anyone intimidated by the 6bbl....it really isn't that bad. I am of average mechanical ability and was able to tune without any difficulty....just do your homework, study the info that is available and go for it!!!!

Maybe this will help.
Red is to PVC on valve cover (larger diameter line)
Green is for outboard carbs vacuum dashpots
Blue is for distributor vacuum advance
Yellow is choke

Needs full manifold vacuum. Either use a "t" or if you have a port off the intake, that will work. I can't honestly say how it was connected from the factory, the air grabber hood came out in 1970. Any of you 70 and later guys have a specific answer?
