So I had my car weighed.

I will give you guys a hint. I raced this similar (76 Charger)car many years ago. It was a street/strip car with a C body 440 in it & full interior. No cage or air parts. It was 3950. I expected the 77 Fury to be around 3700-3750 but it came in lighter than that.

OK so what the hell does it weigh ?

3699 :poke:

My dads 79 ‘doba.....
360,727, 8-3/4, 6 point bar, full stock interior, converted to manual steering, Centerline wheels.
“Crash bumper” stuff removed.......
3960 w/230lb driver

I’d say your car....... 3475 w/o driver

Ok I’ll spill the beans. At Galot Motorsport Park it scaled at 3230 sitting on the scales engine running. Me not in it. I was quite skeptical. A couple weeks later at Piedmont Dragway it sat on the scale engine running. I’m standing next to the read out & it read 3230. And there’s over 100 pounds left to easily get at. So 3230 without driver. I’m 240 so on the line it weights 3470. I have a glass rear bumper for it yet to be installed. Lexan windshield & a spool will all help it more. Plus a little cutting & drilling n a few places.

Trim any bolt that sticks through a nut. Depending on how many of those you have will depend on weight savings. If you never parted a car, you have no idea how much all the fasteners weigh! Use aluminum or plastic fasteners in non key areas.....fiberglass parts don't need metal fasteners!

I guess aluminum for the glass bumpers is a metal :D

3230 lbs? I would never have guessed it at that light. Those cars tend to be on the heavy side.

Wow!
Dwayne nailed it!
