There she goes again. Stronger than the last.
The Northridge quake by comparison was only 6.7 but in LA. That one caused many billions $$ in damage. Fortunately this one was more in the desert. They say it shouldn’t activate the San Andreas Fault. Huge quake.....
It was reported there were 1700 aftershocks since the quake yesterday.
A friend of mine in Ridgecrest and I had just gotten off the phone this evening when I had heard of the second bigger quake tonight.
I quickly called him back.
He said "Mike we just had a bigger one, and I'm getting nervous". He was supposed to be putting a new motor in his 64 Rancherrio, but found out he did not have all of the motor mount parts to do it. He was pretty mad about it. I told him maybe it was a good thing that you were not quite ready to do the install.
I hope your friend is okay as well as his family. Ridgecrest is right in the heart of the epicenter. Also hope no or little property damage.
I told him I could just see his motor hanging from the cherry picker, swaying back and forth beating up his inner fender panels or maybe worse and hurting him.
It was a blessing, because the next one just hit. He is a lot like me, working late into the night trying to finish and engine install.
