1966 Satellite converting to disk brakes

Andy is a member here as well.
More information om my brake conversion parts that I have from the previous owner.
I have the tall big-bearing knuckle with a small slider caliper adapter H.D version.
The caliper is a rear mounting style with the large single piston with 10.78" rotor.
After reading Andy F. performance upgrades and Disc-0-tech (excellent information)
I'm confident of what I have. Now to move on with brakes hoses.
Huge difference in distance in the lines when the wheel is turned.
This was stated as a problem possible being rear mounted for brake lines.

Note sure why the previous owner went this way as this car was not a factory sway bar vehicle.
I do intend to install the aftermarket sway bar (Addco) I think it mounts to the shock mounts.

If not I would have to move the knuckles to the other side then purchase front mounted calipers.
Then more problems with the sway bar being in the way. Don't really want to do that...if I can.

Not sure if their is a small big-bearing knuckle that would work with what I have now that might
give more clearance for the hose line by maybe lowering it or have to purchase a rear mounted caliper
with the hose connection on the bottom of the caliper instead of side/bottom to keep the line from pinching.

Looks like I have a good set up to me....anyone do this to a 1966 B body.

The calipers are the same for front or rear mount. You just swap them side to side, with the knuckles. I think the hose routing is better if they are mounted on the front. My 66 had the early style sway bar and if I remember correctly it did not interfere with the front mounted calipers.

Your right. Knuckles already mounted. If I had a factory sway bar I would defiantly figure that out.
Like to keep what I have (calipers, mounts, rotor) if its just a hose issue.

You just need to get late model FMJ calipers which have the hose at the bottom and then contact Doctor Diff for a set of hoses. Doctor Diff might also carry the correct caliper or he can give you the part number of what you need. I think I listed it in my book also so you can check there. All of this information has been available for years so it should be easy to track down.

No the front and rear hung calipers are different. The factory was very careful about brake hose routing. The problem is people who stick random parts on their car and then can't figure out why it doesn't work. People have been messing up these brake swaps for at least 30 years. Usually the same problem and the same questions. Search thru the old threads and you'll see this same question come up over and over.

Your correct my mistake. I have the rear mounted driver side caliper same part numbers as the picture in your book.
I'm looking for the hose connection on the bottom of the caliper. So far I have only found that in a pin style.
