Any ideas why this seems short? Has the column collapsed? Should it pull down to hook up to the box?

manual steering box and manual steering column. All seems original to the car.

It is likely collapsed, but not a "too too hard" job to fix it.

Looks like the column is not collapsed, but appears i have a std box with a power steering column now. Going to put on a power steering box and use this column still.
