Hi, I am rebuilding the front end and converting to front disc brakes on my 65 plymouth belvedere II.
I would like to know what people are using for an every day driver. Car is a small block with about 350hp auto trans, power steering, does not currently have sway bars. Planning more horse power in the future.
Trying to keep on a working mans budget. What vendors are people using, name brands? etc...
I am also curious if anyone has changed to rack and pinion on these cars.
Any tips or advice is welcome.
Thank You in advance.

Dr Diff is the best for the money.

I agree with Billccm.Or, PST they are on this site and give member discounts. I doubt very much a rack & pinion swap can be done on a budget.

Or -- if you want to go U.S.A. made parts -- I have all of that and am heading to Chryslers @ Carlisle on Tuesday night --- will be there Wednesday, July 10th -- through -- Sunday, July 14th..... @ H 107 - H 108......
"On a budget" --- that makes the U.S.A. made parts a problem for you --- you may have to go with the aforementioned Chineseum suppliers......
It's up to you --- it is only once for life.... Wouldn't you really rather go with the quality and have peace of mind when you drive ???????!

My 65 has the SSBC disc brake kit. Front end is all new Moog pieces.

I put a P.S.T. Super Kit on my ‘65 with poly bushings. Then for the brakes used a kit from Wilwood for a ‘73 Coronet - spindles from Classic Industries. Those spindles are made using the larger inner wheel bearings of the ‘73 and up B bodies, supposed to be a bit stronger than the earlier ones. These are made for disc brakes for the ‘73 and Wilwood has a kit to replace the stock disc brakes. You will want a kit with a dual master cylinder - mine already had one on it so that wasn’t an issue

I used 75 Valiant front spindles and disk brakes. I used the Valiant proportioning valve and a 76 Volare manual disk brake master cylinder on my 65 Belvedere I.
Seems like just yesterday, but was actually done over 20 years ago. Still going strong.

Doctor Diff for the brake kit. If you have 15 inch rims then step up now to the 11.75 rotors. You'll thank me later. Forget the rack and pinion idea. There is no cost effective way to install rack and pinion on a daily driver B body car.
